I like going food shopping at 6:00am, when there is nobody around, always guaranteed to get a car-park, a shopping trolley and an express lane all to yourself.

I also like doing my banking at strange hours too.

There are many bonus' to doing things when others don't.

Sorry not interested in children...I think you will find more and more generation X'ers and Y's are not interested in having children.

They have HECS debts to clear, over priced housing to pay for, plenty of overseas holiday destinations calling them and Ipods to buy

And only a GenX and Y'er would winge about HECS debts and overseas holiday destinations in the same argment! :D

LOL, I was being sarcastic, hence the icon!

I am not interested in having children at all, full stop!

1st Reason is: I cannot afford them.

2nd Reason is: I would find parenthood too stressfull

3rd Reason is: I would much rather a pet

4th Reason is: I am too greedy

5th Reason is: I am becoming the norm

Kids would be okay if you could give them back after an hour or two.

20 odd years is too long though.

Buy a robot dog instead, you can take the batteries out when it becomes too annoying.

Kids become more expensive the older they get. I dread to think what University fees will be in 18 years time...

Ah, but they are an excellent long term investment Realist! If you raise them well that is...

Teach them how to trade and they dont need uni.

Really the majority of people study to get a job that pays more money, why not just study how to get more money?

LOL, what a crock...I hear that you never stop investing in your children, even when they are old enough to fend for themselves.

Plenty of children are raised well and go off the rails, and who picks up the pieces, the parents and the tax-payer.

Nice attitude  You're only looking at the negative side, which is an exception rather than the norm. The vast majority don't go off the rails and contribute to society and give back plenty to their parents (and not just material things).

Just remember that if you don’t multiply and others do at an alarming rate, there will be change of balance and maybe even in our lifetime there will be no need for Census 2036 question ‘religion’ as there will be only one.

Agree- I used to work late nights at Uni (till 2am most nights) it was a beatuiful time of day to ride home-- no traffic out in the street of Melbourne, very peaceful...

There is alot to be said for working weekends and having weekdays of- go to the Vic Market when it aint crowed- go skiing during on Wed when there's no corwd and accom is cheaper.... Of course the problem is if you actually want to go away with some friends... then it's hard.

sometimes it pays not to follow the herd
