In only a couple of weeks time Donald Trump will be sworn in as 47th US President. He has promised to arbitrarily deport millions of people, politicise the civil administration and attack any media that has accused him of any wrong doing.

Even before he has been inaugurated he wants to take over Greenland and the Panama Canal, by force if necessary.

In 1933 Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. The National Socialists were a minority party in the Reichstag. And yet 53 days later he had legally and constitutionally assumed full power in Germany and started the political process of reshaping Germany to his views.

This is a long read by highly qualified historian. He goes into the weeds detailing how Hitler used the constitution to destroy all opposition in less than 2 months.
Have a think.

Ninety-two years ago this month, on Monday morning, January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed the 15th chancellor of the Weimar Republic. In one of the most astonishing political transformations in the history of democracy, Hitler set about destroying a constitutional republic through constitutional means. What follows is a step-by-step account of how Hitler systematically disabled and then dismantled his country’s democratic structures and processes in less than two months’ time—specifically, one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes. The minutes, as we will see, mattered.

Hans Frank served as Hitler’s private attorney and chief legal strategist in the early years of the Nazi movement. While later awaiting execution at Nuremberg for his complicity in Nazi atrocities, Frank commented on his client’s uncanny capacity for sensing “the potential weakness inherent in every formal form of law” and then ruthlessly exploiting that weakness. Following his failed Beer Hall Putsch of November 1923, Hitler had renounced trying to overthrow the Weimar Republic by violent means but not his commitment to destroying the country’s democratic system, a determination he reiterated in a Legalitätseid—“legality oath”—before the Constitutional Court in September 1930. Invoking Article 1 of the Weimar constitution, which stated that the government was an expression of the will of the people, Hitler informed the court that once he had achieved power through legal means, he intended to mold the government as he saw fit. It was an astonishingly brazen statement.

“So, through constitutional means?” the presiding judge asked.

Jawohl!” Hitler replied.

"Have a think."

The Trump cult don't.

They may not. But other people ?

Something to consider about 2025 vs 1933.
1) Donald Trump has already had a term in office. He knows his way around the blocks. He has mustered his forces
2) Unlike Adolf Hitler, Trump won office in 2024 and will not need to go through the process of setting up a fresh election and eliminating his opponents before the election to ensure an opportunity to gain further power.

Another article on Hitler and why he ascended to power, there are some similarities.
When the silent majority (working middle class) feel disenfranchised, it does cause political issues to arise, as is happening all through the Western world at the moment.
Interesting times, it's a shame we always blame the symptom, rather than the disease. ;)

From the article:

Germany suffered from hyperinflation in the 1920s and began sliding into economic depression in 1927. The gross national product of the Weimar Republic contracted by a quarter; unemployment soared and incomes fell dramatically. Support for the Nazi Party, less than three percent of eligible voters in 1924, rose to 31 percent in July 1932, 27 percent in November 1932, and 39 percent in March 1933.

The new statistical analyses by King and his coauthors show that the two groups most affected by the Depression followed separate political paths.
The unemployed turned primarily to the Communist party, which catered to them with a program calling for community property.
The working poor, including independent artisans, shopkeepers, small farmers, lawyers, domestic workers, and family members of the working poor, disproportionately supported the Nazis.
These groups responded positively to Hitler’s denunciations of big business and government, promises of intensive development of Germany’s own economic resources, support of private property, and plans for expropriation of land from Jewish real estate owners and resettlement of the landless in eastern Germany.

In the years after World War II, some leading Westerners argued for limiting democracy to stop the masses from electing demagogues like Hitler. King and his fellow researchers say the best way to stop such unhappy repetitions of history is to implement successful economic policies.

A big difference is that Trump doesn't have a strong ideological base and isn't driven to change for a clear purpose, though some around him do. He is more a King wanting to act on his whims.

I am worried but still have hope.

Rubbish! Basilio
Simple question,
Why were the Japanese, Italians and Germans allies and why were the English, Americans and Russians Allianz?

Trump and Hiter are not the same, Trump and Biden are cucks and serve the same master, you can see this with the boot licking to isreal

Trumps no Hitler. Hitler actually turned Germany around and produced some of the biggest policy changes that benefited Germany and the world to this day.

Trump also loves Israel and looks like he is ushering in the new world order. This is not the same Trump from 8 years ago.
Democrats need an utter up against the wall cleansing, as do a large number of Republicans.

Hopefully California fires show the absolute stupidity of Democrats in action. They literally managed to burn the place down.

The fires are terrible and are burning a huge amount of expensive houses, the only fortunate thing that can be said, the areas being burnt the owners can probably afford insurance.
Hopefully no more people are hurt.

Insurance companies cancelled insurance for a lot of them 3 months back. They will eventually have to deal with California retarded building application process. This is legit DEI hires in action. They hired based on race not on competency. It's like that movie "idiocracy" come to life. Talk about reap what you sow.
