Hi

It's a sticky situation for you guys, you need to know where you are in the queue to give you the edge but you can't afford iress.

Maybe ring up commsec and tell them of your predicament, when it was first introduced they did offer a free trial period.

EDIT>> I think the totals are more useful than where you are in the queue. When you place you bid/ask it's easier to check the totals rather than the individuals, i.e. it's easier to check the total to see if your going to get an instant fill rather than take out a few levels, then realize volumes weren’t enough but I think this is more TH's area.

My understanding with such a scenario is that if your order is last on the list of buyers at that price, you can up the quantity and stay there in the queue. If you are not last in the queue then the order will be split with the original order staying put and the extra quantity creating a new order at the end of the queue AND will create an extra brokerage charge.

I deal through CMC Markets Stockbroking and I know that this applies there. Also at CMC, youur order in the queue is highlighted with an asterisk regardless where it is which also applies if has been partially filled.

Market depth (buy/sell) on Commses - please someone confirm that it only includes Commsec clients who want to buy or sell and not the whole stock market. Dumb question - yes, but I would like to be sure.

I had always assumed that it was the whole market (not just Commsec) with all the brokers accessing a single system (I think it's called Chess??). Anyway, no doubt one of our more knowledgeable friends will clear it up....

Yeh mkt depth shows everyones orders.
Regaardless of platform. It would be interesting however to find a platform that shows which broker is doing what though
