I've had quite a few private mails with regards to my stance of late on ASF.

This is for those interested.

After 10yrs posting on ASF and Reecap Forum and near enough to 8000 posts
I have decided that its time to spend more time on my own Trading and Business/Family interests.

I have learnt a great deal from these forums from many who have no idea that they have given out very useful snippets.
From time to time a poster will appear who could be of great value to those who take the time to research and implement into their own trading methodologies using some or all of the hints they give out.

However the vast majority tend to dismiss much information as ego boosting from those who are in the position and generous enough to pass it on. Sadly a fact of life--the tall poppy syndrome.Often it seems that ideas offered up dont fit with their own.But as was pointed out to me in one exchange---The EARTH was FLAT at one time

That got through to me and changed forever my perspective on almost all views.

Soultrader is the latest victim I see here.

Many will wallow in the vast darkness of knowledge accumulation and NEVER be able to APPLY it.

Many suffer from.
Doing the SAME thing day in and day out and EXPECTING a different result
.

Very little of PRACTICAL value is passed on through forums as the majority are searching for the same thing--(plenty of Theories very little practical application.) When it is----most cant see the forest for the trees.

Of all the things Ive picked up crowd mentality would have to rate top of the list. Fear and Greed is demonstrated daily.

Lack of Knowledge of how to APPLY knowledge is closely second.

There will ALWAYS be idiots. They are fortunately everywhere. You'll see and speak to them on a daily basis. Life is NEVER an exciting place for them and those that appear happy with their lot and genuinely happy to pass on ideas that they have found of great use--certainly dont deserve to be in that space--according to them. They will cut them down where they stand---simply because THEY deserve it in their minds.--Who do they think they are!!

My main aim in the next year is to work on Techtrader with a few who have offered up help and with those who I will pay to investigate ideas which are beyond my capabilities. Even small changes in the methodology have seen over 100% improvement on its original successful form. Many have benifited from the exercise in using it as a blueprint for their own methods and coupling ideas found from the on going input from myself and others.

I used to think that profiting from short term discretionary trading was a pipe dream. The cavern in which 95% of traders fall--few ever to return.
Some have shown me that this is close to the truth but a very few have proven that 5% actually do exceedingly well--way beyond that which I ever expected possible. I have proven this myself---so this is also an area in which I will work with a few others.CONSISTANCY is the challenge in this area--this is where I will be investigating.

So this will be more than enough for me. Thank you to all those who have been generous enough to pass on snippets of THEIR findings.

To everyone---its worth the effort!

Life has many things that will come to an end. Life itself!
But to me I think its terribly important to have things in life that dont have an end.
Personal Developement is one.
and Profiting CONSISTENTLY from the market another.
From me Business /Family&Friends/Travel are others.
These are the things that make life worthwhile.

I may pass through on topics of interest but gone are the days of "Educating the masses".

I'll leave that to others.

Tech i just want to say THANK YOU for taking the time to post here. I have gained immensely from you sharing your knowledge. You have really opened my horizons by introducing me to systems trading and i am very grateful for that.

Agree wholly when you said its worth the effort. It is indeed. And i also agree when you said that nothing is more boring than trading fulltime. When i was trading sorta full time i was looking forward to working my nites. Interacting with people, catching up, having fun! But boring as it may be (trading fulltime), you cannot ignore those gains.

All the best for your future endeavours. You will be sorely missed.

Yours in RESPECT,
Nizar.

Seriously though, although I'm only new around here I appreciate all you've done in making this a very good place to learn. Best wishes for your future, whatever it may hold.

What a Shame Yogi (or inviduals like him) can pick off people he dislikes and continue to harrass them till they don't see any value in being here.

Who will it be next WayneL, Kennas, Snake, Duc, MichaelD...???? all the people we admire and learn a Lot from like Tech/A who has contributed so much round here.

If were Silent and allow this to occur, it's only a matter of time b4 it will be Yogi with someone else who he doesn't agree with.

Appreciate everything I've learned from you 2 Tech/A, and pay tribute to you.

Perhaps should be a FAME & SHAME Thread... :D

Any guesses who goes where...

All the best "You the Man."

Some may say talk is cheap, but you've got my details if I can ever help you in any way.

EDIT: Sadly accept your resignation as Inspirator & Technical Analyst.

Christmas Cheers

You will be back and back in a big way in 2007, mark my words.

I thought I would never come back, but I did...its like this addiction.

I reckon you will have a couple of weeks off, spend it with your friends, family, and personal business, then be craving attention to assist those around you.

All the best for 2007

I'm sorry to hear of your departure tech as you have contributed considerably to ASF and we have had some interesting discussions and exchanges over the years. I'm sure that the many who have benefited from your generosity are greatful, this includes myself.

I hope to see you online again when you have time- all the best with your personal and business endeavours.

I learnt a few interesting things from reading ur post, even though i dont day-trade, i found them very informative. good luck to you mate!

I second that.

I third that.

Good onya Tech, We know you are tapering off your "teaching" sessions on ASF, but happy to see you add your 2 bobs worth occassionally ........... would not like to think you had left on a permanent basis ............ All the best, Barney.

All the best tech and a happy and prosperous new year.

Cheers for all the balanced posts tech. You are a valued member of this site. Your contributions will be missed.

Theres only a few i've marked as worth a search for their posts & you were one of them. I'm sorry to hear it seems someone has got to you. As you alluded to human nature is such that a 'tall poppy' attract attention good & bad. The noisey are always there but i'm sure many more other 'readers' will sorely miss your posts & input. We are all looking for guidance in this messy world of trading, Regards giss.
