In french:Elon Musk has gone the way I unfortunately expected him to.
He has started to believe his own publicity.
Why he thinks he has any business getting involved in UK politics is unfathomable.
He was one of the many who criticised (rightly so I believe) the Democrats for importing UK Labour party organisers to get involved in the US election, and here he is effectively doing the same thing.
The beginning of his demise?

The bromance of two of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters, Elon Musk and Nigel Farage hits a rocky patch

In an extraordinary intervention, Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men and the confidante of incoming US president Donald Trump, has called for a new political leader of one of Britain’s political parties.
Mr Musk called for Nigel Farage, whose leadership of the British political party Reform UK has elevated it to be a serious rival to the Conservative Party, to stand down insisting he “doesn’t have what it takes”.
Mr Musk has apparently taken umbrage at Mr Farage’s refusal to allow far right protagonist Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League, to become involved with Reform UK.
There is an upside in shining a spotlight on the the rape gang fiasco/coverup spanning decades, of which Herr Starmer had a big role in covering up.Elon Musk has gone the way I unfortunately expected him to.

or the Qatari government....And do not every one of us here have input into overseas politics? We just don't have the wealth/ influence /platform Elon or Soros does.
About Qatar, the influence such a small country has on France is unbelievable.or the Qatari government
You will not get robots and fully automated driving if relying on the product of US education...Elon is greedy as hell trying to sell out American workers by supporting the disgraceful H1B visa so his companies can make even more money even though he is the richest man in the world.
But if you look at the people the H1B visas are bringing in its not exactly the Manhatten project. Even the tech-workers they bring in are typically lower skilled then the American tech workers they are replacing but they will work for much lower pay. Its all about lowering labour costs it has nothing to do with filling skills shortages or bringing in highly skilled workers. The whole H1B visa system is a giant rort. You will not get robots and fully automated driving if relying on the product of US education...
A fact..
Similarly, we should allow here some quality selected immigration, but not barista, bricklayers or waiters
Just dunno about that. In the grand scheme of things the numbers of h1b visas available are quite small. I would personally be a hundred times more consent about entrants on other visas, or non visas as the case may be.But if you look at the people the H1B visas are bringing in its not exactly the Manhatten project. I will strongly disagreeBut if you look at the people the H1B visas are bringing in its not exactly the Manhatten project. It should never be cheaper to hire foreign workers.
How come Trump wants to protect American companies from foreign competition by using tariffs but he won't be consistent and protect American workers? He should be putting tariffs on any foreign workers (via additional payroll taxes). Putting an additional 50% payroll tax onto H1B visas will end the rorting quickly. Then companies will only use it when its to fill a skill that is genuinely in shortage (which is actually very rare in reality).
Of course illegal immigration is a much bigger problem than H1B visas but Trump already said he is going to crack down hard on illegal immigration (hence why it isn't seen as a red button topic any more) but he hasn't said anything about stopping the rorts with H1B visas that is why people are getting so vocal about it because he won't even pretend to address the problem. If those Indians are so great why aren't Japan and China importing them by the tens of thousands to remain competitive?I will strongly disagree
Putting numbers instead of propaganda: in 2024, from official us site
"The current annual statutory cap is 65,000 visas, with 20,000 additional visas for foreign professionals who graduate with a master’s degree or doctorate from a U.S. institution of higher learning "
So 85,000 h1b for a total population of 341millions which during the same year saw 2.8 millions illegal immigrants entering (US census)
Divide by 10 to roughly compare with what it would be in Australia ,
and if the fangs were Australia based so actuel brains required
So yes,as a short answer, it is the Manhattan project to fill places that native Americans graduates can not fill.
And , yes, they should be able to , wishes, not facts but a review of US education
And no, h1b visas are not really an issue so far on the market place and probably needed, but the 2.8m competiting for the jobs on the street might
And here, with a population of 1/10, no number high end jobs, we admitted 600,000 migrants..that is barista/uber projects
Elon Musk was on H1visa himself and at one point. Businesses want the best talent that they can get.Elon is greedy as hell trying to sell out American workers by supporting the disgraceful H1B visa so his companies can make even more money even though he is the richest man in the world.
But you are missing the point the vast majority of H1B visas are fraud to bring in cheap slave labour its not about getting the best and brightest. And if it was really about getting the top talent slap a massive payroll tax on them and set a minimum annual salary of $150,000 USD for the minimum criteria for the visa and see how many companies would still bother hiring people on these visas.Elon Musk was on H1visa himself and at one point. Businesses want the best talent that they can get.
If facts and numbers can not change your view, nothing will ever doOf course illegal immigration is a much bigger problem than H1B visas but Trump already said he is going to crack down hard on illegal immigration (hence why it isn't seen as a red button topic any more) but he hasn't said anything about stopping the rorts with H1B visas that is why people are getting so vocal about it because he won't even pretend to address the problem. If those Indians are so great why aren't Japan and China importing them by the tens of thousands to remain competitive?
And there is massive fraud going on with so many Indians coming in with fake degrees or degrees from really crappy universities etc taking jobs away from American IT workers with 10+ years of experience because they will work 60+ hour weeks for half the normal salary because they rely on the company for their visa which allows them to stay in America. Effectively slave labor. You can go and read all the stuff that conservatives were writing about the H1B visa widespread fraud before Elon shut down the conversation by banning people and changing twitter rules all because he was losing the argument.
But H1B visa is just one type of work visa for foreigners. Its just the tip of the iceberg, There are many other foreigners coming on other visas which have the same results and negative impacts. The whole immigration system needs a massive overhaul. Of course H1B visas are under the spotlight especially because of the egregious rorting but its happening in many other visa types simultaneously. Immigration needs wholesale reform in every western country.80k a year in a 340m country
I think he is hypocrite with a really big mouth.
And definitely very common, here, the farm workers in the US, etc...There are people out there who take full advantage of migrant workers. When I did a mine refurbishment in a small country town with 50 permanent residents, the company I worked for put 10 of us up in an old pub. The publican had 2 Irish backpacker girls cleaning the pub and doing one afternoon shift every week in trade for one room in the pub. During the day they would pick pawpaws on a local farm for less than $5 an hour. The same farmer owned one of the only restaurants in the town and we started to speak and he told me that he paid the beginners $2 an hour.
