Andrews doesn't look like a dictator to me. He's got a medical emergency to deal with which he is doing on medical advice.

If you want dictators it would be better to look on the other side of politics, Askin, Bjelke Peterson, Newman come to mind.

It doesn't look good chasing Jews down the street during what amounts to a police state, under rules not backed by the medical or scientific community.

"Look like" means "doesn't appear to be", and by his actions he doesn't appear to me as a dictator.

So you either don't live in Victoria or you are in the demographics that death is not so far away, hence your fear and bias.

His actions are of a dictator, I cannot travel more than 5kms, catch up with friends etc etc etc Based on what exactly. You are a criminal if you do not follow his rulings, dictator and a lier, as is being shown more and more.

Not much that I can see, the negative fallout would be far greater. As you rightly imply, people are getting sick of the lockdowns. What politician in his right mind would continue them if not necessary ?
 
Numbers seem stuck around 10.
Dan Andrews has to relax the rules due to continuing pressure even though this will likely mean a further wave down the track. I read an epidermoligist probably by January at best. (Refer today's Age).

So my prediction for Sunday is 5km is scrapped, outdoor dining allowed, shopping allowed but retention of other strict rules. Hopefully clever compromises will be made. I still have a bit of hope as NSW is showing the way.


If this happens our borders will stay shut with other states unfortunately.

Lot of difference with those being in the past. Andrews is current and responsible. The way he is dealing with and has dealt with this crisis is not proving too good..He comes across as a dictator passing blame. He is in charge. The buck stops with him. He even has said that himself.
 
All three of your questions have the same answer. EGO & self preservation.

Would like to add, the fallout is going to be far far greater than the cause, please prove me wrong.

"What politician in his right mind would continue them if not necessary ?" to keep their ego intact and do what ever is necessary to stay in power. Dan the Man, Mr CPP is not different, he has just got caught out of his skill set.
 
How many ministers will go under the bus? And does the bus still leave the station?
He has learnt from his mistakes but many have been made.
 
And in the circumstances, who could do better ?

Certainly not the screaming O'Brian, not one suggestion to help from him.

Easy to sit on the fence. I've had experience in leadership and can assure you its a tough school.
