Unbelievable effort by Maxwell. The story in The Guardian details just how stuffed Maxwell was and the pain he went through making his 201.
It ain't over till it's over.

Sometimes, in any sport, all you can do is sit and look and ask: what the hell just happened? Sometimes, it defies any conventional understanding. Glenn Maxwell has produced more moments like this than most. This one, though, in Mumbai on Tuesday night, was the apogee. More than a moment, a string of them. An extended sequence of impossibility, one after the other spiralling off into the floodlights and the smog and the endless jubilant roar, sweat and bewilderment and metallic adrenaline in an impressionist smear.

I reckon he has already done plenty of freaky things to warrant freaky status.Only problem is can he keep it up or was this a freaky one off ?

The other problem is, they shouldn't have had to chase such a big total and rely on a freak innings, to get themselves out of the $hit.Only problem is can he keep it up or was this a freaky one off ?

I haven't followed it much, since the team chucked out the coach for being too tough, I've always found self managed groups usually get undermined by either a bully, or someone with a personal agenda.Yes that's what has worried me about this side. The middle order isn't pulling their weight, we either get off to a good start with Head and Warner , then the middle order blow it, or someone plays a lone role.
Don't know how Inglis got the job over Carey.
Was the climatic conditions causing swing, was it a green pitch, did they open with exceptional spinners who moved the ball an incredible amount, or was it just pizz poor batting?

So it is easier just not to watch, I was only making an observation from the score of the opposition and the batting reply, let's keep it in context it was against Afghanistan.
To say it was a fantastic innings is one thing, against what bowling is another and if he could get 200 how come the first 7 couldn't get 100? After all the Afghanies got nearly 300, against what is supposed to be, one of the worlds best teams.
All of the above rolled into one !
There's been some extraordinary scoring. I remember when 200 was a good score. Playing on concrete postage stamps with bats about 30cm wide might help.So Oz rest Maxwell and drop starc for Abott.
Hazelwood and Zampa both going for less than three per over, the rest going around 6 per over.
Bangladesh currently looking like they will top 300.
Marsh and Stoinis getting hammered as the baqkup bowlers.
Just read on the cricinfo that in terms of runs per over, these two backup seam bowlers are in the bottom seven of the eighty plus bowlers who have bowled more than ten overs in the WC.
Lucky Lambshanks has provided two brilliant runouts.

I am not convinced that OZ will beat Seth Efrica.A good solid batting against a challenging target . should have given the Aussies a confidence boost.
Roll on Seth Efrica.
I am not convinced that OZ will beat Seth Efrica.
They have just as good a batting lineup as OZ, but their bowlers have been far more lethal than Oz, particularly in the initial power play.
Even last nights game, OZ bowlers id not look like getting a wicket in the powerplay.

Allowing the opposition to get 300 runs on a regular basis, does put the batsmen under the pump, a run a ball chase is difficult.Yes I agree. Our bowlers have looked pretty docile really although the pitches are flat and don't give much encouragement.
Pity we only have one specialist spinner, another one would be more useful than a straight up and down medium pacer.

So, what do we call that, given that four wickets in a row is a double hatrick?Meanwhile , back at the recreational level, a Gold Coast bowler sets a world record for taking 6 wickets in an over to win a one day match.
Gold Coast captain makes cricket history by taking six wickets in six balls in unbelievable last-over win
The cricket gods have smiled on a club bowler after he bagged six wickets in the final over of a one-day match to snatch a miracle victory for his team.www.abc.net.au
Yes Mick, but you were 23 years old at the time.Great bowling feat nonetheless, first time it has ever been recorded.
Though I reckon I got one playing cricket in the playground in grade 5.
