Last night Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka to move to 5th on the table, equalon points with Sri Lanka, and head of Pakistan and Englnd.
Great result, and now have Netherlansd, Oz and Seth Efrica in its last three games.
New Zealand have some tough games ahead with South Africa, Pakistan and sri lanka to come, so its not out of the realms of possiblity that Afghanistan could replace either New Zealand or Australia in the top four if they win their last three games.
And England are still on the bottom with games against OZ, Netherlands and Pakistan to go, they may well still be there at the end of the round robin stage.

At least our NRR is now positive.

Mitchell Marsh out of the World Cup for personal reasons and Glenn Maxwell with concussion after falling off a golf cart.

Is it unravelling for us ?

Marsh coming home may be reasonable. Maxwell falling off a golf cart?? Yikes.

I've been watching most of the games. There's been some pretty high scores. The grounds look like the size of my U12 grounds I played on at East Ringwood.

India will eventually be the World leaders in international cricket. There's no excuse now for the crap grounds and poor pitch prep. Some of these pitches are like back yard cricket.

So then, da Pommies vs Australia... after 19 overs, Labuschagne 35 Smith 35; Australia 101 fa 2...
EDIT 1 113 fa 3, Smith gonsky
edit 2 four fa
kind regards

Looks like they've locked the gates for local spectators. I can count 10 Indians in the crowd.

Seth Efrika all out for 80 !

What a shock for them and their supporters.

India on the other hand will be delighted and must be very short odds to raise the Cup.

Afghanistan 2/165 after 35.

I'm happy Afghanistan are making some runs, but, I've been to Afghanistan and I can't remember many cricket wickets in the country other than a back street ally with some kids playing with a stick and a tennis ball.

291 to the Afghans.

Might be hard to get.

Looks like you've gone to bed Sir R.

Australia don't actually need to win this to get through to the semis on the balance of things, but really?????

Could be the worst sporting loss in history.

Is Eddie Jones in charge of this?

What do you say now Sean ? :)

I was asleep for the Maxwell massacre, great effort , I hope it continues for the rest of the tournament.
Good morning,
yes rcw1 missed it to ... good thing for highlights...

Maxwell’s 201 not out from 128 balls. Australia now having a spot in the World Cup semi-finals.

The Aussies will face South Africa in a semi-final but only after their final league stage match against Bangladesh in Pune on Saturday.

Kind regards

Unbelievable effort by Maxwell. The story in The Guardian details just how stuffed Maxwell was and the pain he went through making his 201.

It ain't over till it's over.

Maxwell’s sequence of impossibility beggars belief to rescue Australia

Afghanistan were cruising to victory until batter’s astonishing double hundred sparks bewildering and exhausting run chase

Sometimes, in any sport, all you can do is sit and look and ask: what the hell just happened? Sometimes, it defies any conventional understanding. Glenn Maxwell has produced more moments like this than most. This one, though, in Mumbai on Tuesday night, was the apogee. More than a moment, a string of them. An extended sequence of impossibility, one after the other spiralling off into the floodlights and the smog and the endless jubilant roar, sweat and bewilderment and metallic adrenaline in an impressionist smear.
