Not exactly sure what you're after Steve, but there's free delayed charting at Big Charts and you can change the chart style to anything you like, including candlesticks.

For some Candlestick pattern analysis you could try this site for a start.

Google always get you something too.

There are 10's n 10's of programs, so free which may be a good starting point.

Not sure if are actively trading, if you are most on line type brokers have charts that can be viewed in candle stick format.

As to translating them Candlestick Charting for Dummies is a useful book and a good place to start. Not that I think you are dumb.
