It is option expiry in US today so possibly we got just a blip into that and we resume normal bull moves next week . Earnings will have a good say as well next couple weeks . Its going to be a very crazy election year in US just when you thought it could get anymore bizarre

i don't use stop losses

sure i get a few cuts , but if i mess up it is all on me ( unless Commsec locks up again )

Was anyone buying anything today?
I almost bought a starter pack of Kelsian (KLS) and considered an add of WDS or BPT for a spot of retail therapy. As a market investor the only way to feel consolation on a day like this is to buy something.

i had orders in but all of them missed the targets although i did lower the orders for GRR and IGO at the start of the session ( turned out a little too much )

It was a boring day on the markets that's for sure, was falling asleep watching it.

I might put some buys in on Monday depending on what the markets do tonight.

Wait for cheaper prices. We're not at the bottom yet. I'll be buying GEAR and some commodity ETFs when they're there. Huge selloff in uranium stocks and they'll need some time before recovering.
well i threw in some cheaper orders but the sellers didn't oblige

maybe next week

we're only a few percent and a few days from recent strength, so the buying dip reflex hasn't kicked in yet.
it did for me but i was looking for stocks DUMPED , not just a 2 or 3% retrace , so lots of looking and sighing for me

was today a 'breather ' or the start of a trend ?

Can't wait for the ASX to open. I've started buying semiconductors (SOXL @29). Just a little nibble to satisfy my urges.
We'll still need semiconductors in the future, won't we?

Loving this selloff. A recession may be coming but not Armageddon! There's going to be plenty of bargains when we get to the low. Commodity minerals are being trashed. I'll wait for them to rally.

Lucky I offloaded a few. Should of more. But got greedy.
I'll buy them back of this continues

as best as i can tell locally the recession has been here for a while ( just redefined ) , Armageddon is always possible , but stupidity and foolishness is rampant

bargains , i hope so , i have a little reserve cash , and another stock ( QIP ) have been taken-over so there is more cash coming ( whether i like it or not ) , SUN promises a special div. + a capital return , and PSQ while probably result in another fistful of cash ( whether i like it or not ) while a couple of others are targets of M&A activity as well

now commodities might be a tester if the global economy is really slowing down ( not switching from 'the West ' to the 'global South ' ) commodities should wane ( and consolidate ,

for instance there will not be a big immediate demand for copper if industry slows and 'the Green Dream' fades and staggers from bottleneck to bottleneck

my current play is adding commodity stocks ( including foods and water ) at moments of 'fair value and nibble cautiously into long down-trends ( so my food stocks are likely to be neglected for a while and back to base metals for me , by the looks of it
