Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

It utterly staggers me that some people actually think this is an investible business! As @The Triangle points out, they have never made a profit, just about every single financial metric you can look at is terrible, the only thing that has really grown consistently is the shares issued, up by 100x over the last 10 years.
The greatest mystery to me is how brokers in Australia constantly find $50, $100, $300 million to give to zombie companies in various sectors which continually lose money.

What does Charlie Munger always say? Substitute EBTDA with Bull? earnings

If fairness maybe no one has explained to the board of Bubs what profit actually is?

Good luck. I'm sure H22023 will be the turnaround... :roflmao:

FY2017: Lost money
FY2018: Lost money
FY2019: Lost money
FY2020: Lost money
FY2021: Lost money
FY2022: Lost money

One of my red flags are announcements by Aussie companies which name the president of the United States, or any US laws passed. Australian companies always fail in America and I'm sure bubs will suffer the same fate as so many others.

Big losses cetainly but as a day trader i am only interested really in selling for couple of cents up on the buy in price for my wheelbarrow fund, but do live in hope that It will just perhaps one see a plus rather than a minus on the bottom line.

Is there any sign of the Chinese cousins stripping shelves again of baby formula for posting to China in the major metropolitan cities where the Chinese cousins learning English settled.

Or have they all gone home again due to Covid.

Or have the Chinese cousins in China stopped making babies?

gg

Good evening GG
It was amazing to watch the fighting going when the baby formula was th rage.
Probably sweating it out at home and I don't think the population is shrinking.

Once again I have nominated BUB for the April Comp. I was of the opinion that once the pademic passed the SP of BUBs Australia just might regain some credence. As I stated previously I did pretty well trading it over time, and I feel it will return again. As a day trader I look for that 2-3 cent uplife for profit, not a long term holding for me. But as my luck with choosing stocks is as it is perhaps i have put the knockers on it. Time will tell if I have picked a lemon off the tree again.

well a lesson i learned from a former salesman associate was 'show me a commission , and i'll find a sale to earn it ' ( unlike me i am more the shop-clerk type , if you want to buy it i will politely take your cash , bag it and write the receipt )

i suspect some brokers are more like my former associate , one might think it is a percentage game , present 5 winners for every two losers , but with so many zombies still lingering on , one has to wonder , maybe they swap brokerages regularly

am slightly surprised you didn't go for A2M and play the milk allergy angle

i went for CLV as a long term play in this sector ( and have done nicely by buying the falling knife , and recovering the investment cash later )

good luck

I used wonder when dealing with brokers if they could ever be straightened on a rack. I also doubted it. Their back pocket is their God. And we are the fools who fill it.

have only ever taken one broker's recommendation , looked OK at a glance , did some research and looked like fair risk for reward ( for a junior gold play operating in Victoria ) things went pear-shaped for a while , so did the research again still looked OK but about 60% cheaper , so bought some more , eventually straightened out some issues and a rival put in a take-over offer , so i got left on the footpath with a handful of cash ( a modest profit )

now if i hadn't lifted the bonnet TWICE and put in cash , i might be sour with the broker , ( still have the account with nothing in it , but haven't needed a full service broker since my BSL adventure )

maybe next year

Dead dog bounce?
Leave the cats alone, thanks.

Ironically the Letter from the CEO released today highlights the continuous destruction of shareholder capital by this company as I alluded to above 6 months ago. Any remaining shareholders would surely be compelled to sell after reading that letter! What a fiasco.

Sadly BUB was a stock I traded very successfully over a period time some time ago. I did hold out for it recently, but I guess you are correct in saying it is a potental dead duck.

@farmerge my commentary is more relevant to investors rather than speculators, for all I know there may be continuing opportunities for trading the shares. People like @peter2 would have a much more informed view on that.

I agree though I was both for some time thinking it was going to be world beater.

Thanks, the chart is an absolute disaster. The down trend is very strong. A gambler may be able to punt for a few cents here and there but the potential of suspension at some stage soon is increasing. BUB has been mentioned in many news articles due to the disagreement between the old and new management team. Issue is unresolved.

I agree that BUB had potential when they were able to get into the US market thanks to some US production issues. However they seemed to have mismanaged this opportunity. I thought it a huge red flag when mgt gave themselves huge bonuses after sending product to the US.

Is BUB heading into the penny dreadful category? Or perhaps it's already there but with a few cents still hanging on.
