I’ve said it before, Pete Evans is an idiot. He should stay in the kitchen and leave the science to scientists. It annoys me that this guy gets publicity for comments on areas for which he has no education.

My two brothers and I contracted the measles in 1961, pre vaccination. Younger brother had convulsions, nearly died and was subsequently found to have had encephalitis. He suffered brain damage and developed epilepsy. Has a mental age of 10. That’s what measles can do to you.

What's with all these Calories and imperial measurements?

I'll stick to simpler ways - there's 10.47 kilowatt hours per kg of fat. :D

Correct, "Paleo" Pete Evans does seem to be an idiot. Nutritionists generally think he is too.

She notices a correlation, then calls it causation. Not too bright.

Humans love nothing more than to feel safe, and that's where the religion of 'healthy foods' originated. Food has become just another religion. The world is full of religions not named as such. Religion can be defined as the creation of beliefs around which one aims to avoid pain and death.

What are these adverts about Australian GP's low paid? GP job for $120/hour which is $4560 gross for 38 hour week and they work more than that I think. Easily gross over 5k per week. In my belief they over charge because the patient receives a government rebate (Medicare) so the GP's take an extra dip.
What is the BS about low paid?????

I can't say where there are low paid or not as I haven't all the facts. But presumably their salary must also pay for the staff at reception, the rent and upkeep of the clinic, possibly for the on-site nurse and I am sure they have a hefty insurance premium to pay due to the high risk of malpractice suits. If these aren't paid directly by the doctor, they are likely payed indirectly to whoever manages the clinic.

Yes that is true and is why Medicare is a compulsory contribution by all working people. Kerryn Phelps makes the claim Aust. GP are lowest earning in the OECD. A claim that is not true.

Hopefully GPs (and some specialists) will be replaced by automated online services at some point. There's no reason why an intelligent algo couldn't do just as good a job. Could bypass Pharmacies too - they are nothing more than glorified retail shop fronts.

Critical, emergency care and surgery are probably the only areas that need human intervention.

It might work if the patients were intelligent robots programmed to input data into the algorithms.

It would be quite useless for a Balmain Green doing second daily colon cleansing or a 16 year old rural indigenous female seeking contraception suffering PTSD.

From the US...Why would anyone put a phone tower in school grounds?

Fourth Ripon student has cancer. Parents demand removal of cell tower from school

The Ripon Unified School District said it is talking with a telecommunications company about moving a cellular phone tower from Weston Elementary School because of a public uproar over cancer cases at the campus.

A fourth child who attends the school was diagnosed with cancer Friday. Some parents pulled their children from school, and many came out in force to a Ripon school board meeting Monday evening to demand action.

In a prepared statement, board president Kit Oase said tests done on the tower found it was operating normally within safety standards.

Monica Ferrulli, whose son was treated for brain cancer in 2017, said RUSD has cited an obsolete American Cancer Society study in keeping the tower in place since the controversy erupted two years ago. “It is just denial,” Ferrulli told the board. She vowed that parents will continue to fight and keep their children out of the school. More...

Eating a balanced diet

Nutrition and healthy eating
Key components of the Mediterranean diet

The Mediterranean diet emphasizes:
· Eating primarily plant-based foods, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts

·Replacing butter with healthy fats such as olive oil and canola oil( some say coconut oil is the best)

·Using herbs and spices instead of salt to flavor foods

· Limiting red meat to no more than a few times a month

·Eating fish and poultry at least twice a week

·Enjoying meals with family and friends

·Drinking red wine in moderation (optional)

·Getting plenty of exercise

I find quality food from every culture. Among western food, I eat Barley with dried fruits and nuts daily except weekends. After following work based course I introduced barley for my morning breakfast at home. Those days I used to eat variety of Asian and western food for breakfast.

What are the health benefits of barley?

Haven't tested it personally, but have seen press claims that Dr Phelps charges $400 for a consultation at her Double Bay practice

I found that interview where the doctor states she charges $400/hour as a General Practitioner. Obviously the clients are wealthy and claim Medicare Rebate but most Australians can't afford working 2 to 3 days to cover the costs of a GP for 1 hour. Good on her for finding the sweet spot.

"No man can run a mile in under 4 minutes". Then someone does it. Then several people do it. Now even amatuers can do it. One example to the contrary makes us question if the rule really is a rule.

Who better to ask about health than a vibrant, healthy centenarian? Would you trust a researcher when their claims can be so easily countered? There's a youtube clip as well if you want to see her in the flesh. ;)

a whole-food-plant-based diet sounds like veganism, vegetarianism and other ism's, in practise it is a rejection of antithetical input, meaning, a rejection of stupid foods versus a regular input of empathetic foods

garlic #1 apoptosis vegetable (except Spinach for liver cancer)

so if you love your garlic but hate the peel, you like this:

I am just out of hospital again. To eat and drink well is with me again.

I can summise that I have only one problem.

Moderation.
