If any man disobeyed Cook's orders, he would be subjected to a dozen lashes with a whip for each violation. Crew members were forced to witness the punishment so they would not make the same mistake.

Reminds me of some of the storys my uncle would tell my dad, about his days flying c-130's in Vietenam in '68-69.

Something about always changing a tyre in singapore?...& for some reason the flight engineer would always do it in the seering heat, despite maintenance crews being puzzled?
