Honeymoon destinations

Our wedding is Jan 5. Our honeymoon is a few months later as Jan is peak time for Koh Samui, saves us over $1600 in flights and accom. My first non-military overseas trip. Cannot wait! :)

After you brought up Koh samui my partner and I looked into it. We are actually looking at going now! Our travel agent recommend april aswell(around easter). smart move pushing your honeymoon back. we left a day after the wedding and it is a little bit chaotic. If you don't mind me asking how much are your flights? We were told it would be about 900p/p return. Looking at accomo there seems to be some really nice places that are affordable and have great deals eg buy 5 nights stay 8.

Seems as though you could have any amazing trip for just a few grand, and heaps of activities/sight seeing/island hopping on the island also. You'll have a blast!

We got a deal on xpedia which included flights and accom (8 nights) for $1300 each. I'm not sure how much of that was for the flights, and we are staying in a pretty nice hotel. If you go during Easter, we'll probably see you there!

I've been looking up its history, things to do, etc. Way more excited about the trip than the wedding! :p:

The cheapest return airfares from SYD to BKK (direct flights) right now is $865. From BKK to Samui return the fares are around $300. So your accommodation comes in at $135 per person for the 8 nights. You have done very well!

Things to do, my favourite is riding the motorcycle around the island. Grabbed a map from the hotel and just done all the sites on my own. It is a really pretty island, loads of photo stops. Take your time and deviate from the main roads and check out some coconut plantations and villages, really great fun. Enjoy yourselves!
