Time, water, and that still small voice in my head saying, rationally and calmly, 'I will never drink again'

Finished drinking at 2.30am... and my head STILL hurts at 5pm today.

Anyone got a killer hangover cure?

The wife is NOT happy Jan!

You could try some Honey

HONEY is being hailed as a new hangover cure with scientists claiming the natural sweetener helps break down alcohol.

Scientists from the UK's Royal Society of Chemistry claimed that the fructose in honey is an essential compound that helps the body break down alcohol into harmless by-products, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Old Geordie wisdom - What made you bad will make you better. :D

I wonder if we can drink something like Irish Mist :D

made from aged Irish whiskey, heather and clover honey,

And cure a hangover before we get it !

Still I enjoy a good brandy.. Rather than a good whiskey
( Must be good or would not enjoy either )

Diet Coke seems to work nicely for me as a headache cure in general. I'm not sure why, I'd assumed it was the water content but drinking that doesn't work as well.

Note that I mean actual "Diet Coke" (or other equivalent brand). The stuff with the artificial sweetner and not the "no caffine, no sweetner of any kind" stuff (Pepsi Max etc).

It's the only time I ever drink fizzy soft drinks. Not keen on it at all and I know it's not good for health. But it works, is cheap and easily available and once in a while shouldn't do me too much harm.

All that said, last night I managed to get thoroughly dehydrated, and woke up with hangover-like symptoms, without drinking alcohol at all (on-call for work this year). Spending almost the whole night on the dancefloor and not drinking anything certainly takes a bit of water out of the system. A couple of hours dancing right in front of the speakers at Isobar might have contributed to the headache too I suppose...

Additionally, the possibility of permanent and irreversible hearing damage may have occurred. Recommendation for exposure of 91 decibels over 2 hours and being on call I assume company expects correct PPE to be worn. :D

I can see it now. In a club, wearing ear muffs... :D

On a positive note, you might get mistaken for a DJ and that could get interesting...

Hi.
After the drinking session and before bed, take two panadol plus one large glass
of water.
You wake up like a baby, then do something about the breath.
