A rolling football train wreck

The way she is behaving she will be lucky if she isn't charged with blackmail. It looks like blackmail to me.

It only becomes blackmail if she demands money in return for not publishing any more photos. As far as I am aware (and I may be wrong) she has not done so.

The moral of the story is these guys should not have anything to do with a 17 year old girl especially not anything sexual.

Quite agree. These morally deficient, over-paid footballers think they can behave as they wish, with arrogant disregard for the feelings of others, and then suddenly want to play the victim when the repercussions of their behaviour come back to bite them.

I have hardly followed this , but everything that I have seen would give 1000 to 1 this young lady has mental health issues.

Why? She sounds like an ordinary 17 year-old to me. She wants to hurt the people who hurt her (quite a normal human reaction), and this is the only way she knows how to do it. The mighty AFL machine has already used its weight and power to try and steam roll her, and she is fighting back with the only weapons she has.

Agree. They behave like idjits and then scream moral outrage.

Agree again. I'm not sure that her actions are well advised, but I admire her courage.
And to suggest that she 'needs help' in the sense of psychiatric intervention is presumptuous to say the least.

Agree. The AFL appears to be trying to use it's media influence to impune the emotional/mental stability of the young lady, blithely steamrolling past the lewd and stupid activities of the football players.

I haven't the faintest interest in football or any of its players, but was quite taken aback to hear on ABC's "PM" this evening someone representing this code saying they were going to go for this young woman with everything they have.

i.e. they will be asking for extensive damages and costs, and god knows what else.

If this young woman didn't have any 'mental issues' before she, probably unwisely, engaged in this whole distasteful business, she is sure as hell going to have them before the poor, insulted, vulnerable little darlings of footballers have finished with her.

I can't help feeling immensely sorry for the girl.

That's an interesting point.
What does happen if she hasn't got any money?

Who's assetts do they go after?

Still think she should've resisted the urge to get involved with these guys.
Just the sort of guys that I continuesly warn my own daughters about, & I frett each time they insist on going to a party where I know there are older boys about.

If she has any real case or evidence, then she & her family should take time to build a propper case, not create a media circus.
It just destroys any credability she MIGHT have!

I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down. So the big bad wolf (AFL/St Kilda Media circus) started huffing and puffing. All their media contacts in the media ensured it got full coverage. The lawyer representing the indgnant footballers caught with their pants down, huffed and puffed the most as to what he was going to do to this 17 year old girl. Even her parents distanced themselves from her (to ensure there was no evidence that they were a party to the act and liable for any damages award against them?).

Then when all the prosecutions had finished and the court had awarded millions of dollars against her to:
1. the football players caught with their pants down;
2. the football club claiming their club had been brought into disrepute; and
3. the AFL claiming the game had been bought into disrepute.

The barely 17 year old girl read the "bankruptcy" thread on the ASF site and filed for bankruptcy. And the outcome of it all was:

1. The football club spent a fortune attacking a barely 17 year old girl;
2. The solicitors were paid a fortune by the football clubs; and
3. Several months later, the barely 17 year old girl was discharged from bankruptcy entirely debt free.

Ludicrous, isn't it? It sounds like a lot of prehistoric chest thumping to me. All these testosterone-laden alpha males are outraged because an insignificant 17 yearl old girl has managed to get the better of them. I don't know the law, but if the girl is under 18 and doesn't own anything...... what are they going to achieve?

They don't even mention the fact that Sam whatsisname allowed the girl access to his computer on which the photos were stored. Of course, he is in no way responsible for this mess................!!!

In my view they are all making an absolute laughing stock of themselves. Everyone knows that "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" (Yes, it is a misquote.)

You raise an interesting point Nulla Nulla.

Possibly she has everything to gain & noth'n to lose?

I wonder what would happen if someone [footballers] up-loaded naked images of her onto the net?
I'm sure there would be hell to pay!

These guys, although some behave like pigs, also have the same rights to dignity & privacy [as you never know, some might just be decent men?].

Some girls also behave like little tarts, & throw a tanty when they don't get what they want...I know 'cause I've wittnessed It many a time.
What did she expect, pursueing a relationship with famous 'older' men?..at 16? [marrage?]

There's no excuse for abusing anyone, male or female!

Again, If she has serious allegations about sexual misconduct, then she needs to do it propperly, & build a case through a legal firm, [who I'm sure would be eager to represent her].

Anything else will just look petty & stupid..& possibly just a fishing expedition for that lucrative expose' with Womens Day etc...& thats not entirely fair!

Vicki, I believe she did make allegations about sexual misconduct some time ago (correct me if I am wrong). She claimed she was pregnant. She feels she was not fairly dealt with and now wants to wreak revenge. This is what she claims and we should not assume otherwise - yet. So far she has not asked anyone for money.

The whole business is extremely tawdry. People on both sides need to realise that they will often be called to account and made to bear the consequences of their behaviour. There is not a lot of point in crying "It's not fair" when this happens, whatever form it takes. We have probably all experienced this to some degree in our lives.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Yet another groupie hell bent on revenge after she was left broken-hearted.
When will these women be told to accept responsibility for their own choices?

Learning to accept responsibility comes with maturity - as Todster has just said.

I notice you didn't ask "When will these grown men start to accept responsibility for their own choices?"

If a man is found guilty of taking advantage of a "possibly" tarty flirty 16-17 yr old, then yes he deserves to be torn down publically.

But until then, rape & sexual misconduct are allegations that could/would destroy an inocent man...& so shouldn't be treated like a jerry springer show.

When you are one of the best in the world at what you do (not just sports) reality tends to get a bit distorted. Right or wrong it's what happens, no matter how many seminars they go to :2twocents

Anybody just see the evening news?

Girl in question has had a federal court appearance [pretty sure twas federal] .
And she was ordered to destroy all saucy images of I guess any footballers that she may have...[yes footballers plural]...She gets 'round this girl.

Well my guess is she may have just blown any real 'legal' chance at retribution.

Reason why any worthwhile genuine legal council will tell you to avoid the media, atleast until they've done their thing.

DNA test of the miscarried baby would've been a safer bet.
Does anybody here know if a test would've been possible? [any med students]

Vicki:)
p.s.Bet anybody a cheap bottle of 'cardy, that it's womens day or some such next!

Perhaps I'm being stupid, but I have no idea what you mean here. Could you clarify?

The very fact that the massive machinery of the football industry is turning full force against this young girl is further inculcating in the players' minds that they are a protected species and can do no wrong.
How stupid.

Stupid....she's been tarting around with footballers from what we're told via the media.

She had possibly a golden or concrete oppertunity to nail someone with a DNA test?
[miscarried]. remember.

Allegedly 'steals' another persons personal photo's [imagine if it were hers?]

Spreads it all over the net, including, but I could be wrong, other pic's or luid info on other men?..[again, imagine if it were hers?]

Playing on the fact that she's just a child is wearing thin, heck she's legally an adult in 12 months.

If she had a solid case, she should've had propper legal representation point out the fact!..But as far as I know she hasn't?

Legal firms are motivated by money primarily, & proving such a case would be a rain maker.... But nothing.

So, call me callous, but I wouldn't be surprised If the next port of call is a paid story with the likes of womens day etc.

She feels she was not fairly dealt with and now wants to wreak revenge. This is what she claims and we should not assume otherwise - yet. So far she has not asked anyone for money.

Inocent until proven guilty...or guilty until proven inocent?
The money part, well watch this space?

Vicki:)
p.s.I don't think she was ruffeed, she was actively involving herself with all these 'famous' men...If they weren't afl players would she have bothered?
p.p.s.'cardy, was my my 'Cath&Kim attempt at saying chardonay.

If this idiot had any brains he would know it is just a matter of keeping his trousers up.

I read in the Herald-Sun today [page 17] that the teenage girl who accused cirtain footballers of misconduct, by showing pictures she said she took herself, that proved her case about lewd conduct on their behalf, actually admitted she lied!

She said she lied about taking the pictures because she was in shock.

Quote "That was really stupid of me."

"I just went into shock when it got that much publicity."

"I think it was my first reaction....to say I took the photos, because I can't get in trouble if they are my property."

Now the silly girl is handing out flyers at St Kilda's training sessions, allegedly promoting womens' rights.....Jeez

Don't do me any favours love...making up stories, only serves to discredit genuine cases.

I wondered why no legal firm had jumped at the chance to represent her case?

Because it was full of holes, & unlike her, the legal firm would be aware that making false accusations is a serious offence!

That's why I believe in 'Innocent until proven guilty'.
Even if some of these men are pigs, you have to prove it...As Innocent peoples lives can be ruined otherwise....by "LIES".
