What would you put your kids name down for now?

Hey,

Iv'e got a kid a few months old and am thinking of putting his name down to be a MCC member, here the waiting list is around 20 odd years. Any members out there who would like to tell me if it's worth it or not when he finally does become a member.

On that note, what else would you put your kids name down for now?

So far I've got him a bank account, on childcare waiting list...

dont bother with the MCC membership conga line - years of waiting, impatience, and eventually when it does come your (or his) way the advantages it has at present will be eroded for the sake of the dollar, rather than satisfying members wants or needs.

just do what i did - grease up to someone who is a member, and get guest passes for the games you wanna see.

just do what i do now - grease up to someone who works in the MCC, has a life membership pass but never uses it, and they give it to you for nothing, cos they are always there working anyway.

MCC membership is well worth it - as a rabid Cat fan I have managed to get awesome seats for each of the last three GFs despite missing out in the club membership ballot every time. Already paid for itself lifetime imo, even with the 2008 travesty.

Any other sports club memberships (eg. sandbelt golf courses)?

The other thing is schools and kinders. We put both our kids on several school waitlists from birth, despite having no idea yet whether we'll want to send them to private schools. Only costs ~$50 per school so no loss.

If it's Kooyoung Lawn Tennis Club your referring to, that a good one. Hadn't thought of that and I do love my tennis.

Yep got him down for a couple of schools, while Sandbelt courses look pretty damn good it's a bit rich for my blood.
