Smurf,

Attaching charts is easy as long as they are within the specified dimensions and file size limits (800x800 and 90K respectively). All you need to do is go to the 'Attach Files' section of the 'Additional Options' when you are typing out your post and click on 'Manage Attachments' (see attachment :D). Then simply select the file from your computer and you should be in business.

Happy attaching! :)

I find the 800*whatever restrictions really get to me when trying to post charts. Unless I fire up photoshop, its not uncommon for me to take 3 or 4 attempts to make the chart small enough.

It'd be much better if the forum software would display a shrunk down version of it and allow people to click on the image to display the full thing to allow much higher resolution charts.

Doc, vbulletin supports this option. If enough people prefer it, I would be happy to make the switch.

Nah, don't do all that work on my account!

The problem stems from using higher resolutions where its hard to tell just where 800pixels ends.

My personal preference would be for it to stay as it is. I don't find the 800 x 800 size restrictive, and I don't particularly like having to click and wait again just to see an attachment.

Unless perhaps the thumbnail was big enough to see most of the detail already.

Cheers,
GP

Ok, I've been trying to post a chart and it just won't happen!

I save my chart to my pictures folder, I've saved it png and gif and jpeg

I've double checked that it's within the size guidelines of Asf

Yet after clicking the upload button I get the message Upload Failed.

I'll try again here to see if it works..

Nope Nothing, Same message Upload failed here's some stats for anyone
that may be able to help me get around this problem.

I use Incredible Charts

The file size is 32.1 kb

Type Gif

other Type's I've tried to upload are Btmap Jpg (each saved individually) and reduced to below 800 x 800

Any ideas as to why I can't seem to post Charts.... ?

:banghead: Julles

Julles - email me the image file at joeblow at aussiestockforums dot com and I'll try and post it in this thread myself and see what happens.

Not sure Julles, but as you can see the image file you sent me can be attached with no problems. Not sure what the problem is at your end.

Ok thanks Joe, I'll try using a different browser as I can't see the problem either, I'm on broadband so it shouldn't be the speed. I'll keep soldiering on.
