Winsnap

Sometime ago an ASF member provided a link to a free download of Winsnap, great little screenshot program.

I have a new computer and have lost Winsnap. Looking for it via Google I can only seem to come up with Windows Snapshot Maker which is quite different or a paid version of Winsnap.

Can anyone help, please?

There is a tool in windows called "snipping tool" than can do a job of screen capture. Not very good though.

PC - I use Snagit. Very good and lots of editing tools in the menu, very easy to use, l can highly recommend it.

Mac, there is a program called Little Snapper

Google "screen capture" and there will be a ton of info, or go to cnet.com and check out the reviews.

Joe, I've downloaded from that link but what I get is Windows Snapshot Maker which is quite different from the old program I had, where you could outline with the cursor the exact portion of the screen you wanted to take the shot of, then choose where to save it.

The Snapshot Maker just doesn't do what I want.

Perhaps the old program is no longer available?

You can even have it setup to capture to a free URL that is provided, also allows for instant editing.

Are you running this in PC, WinXP?Win7 etc? Before I install it, I'm just interested in whether it caused any conflicts or any other sytem probs.

Try setting "Capture Mode" to "Region". Can do exactly what you're describing here, I just did it, set it on Region mode and select anywhere/anything you want with the cursor.

Ah, Sam, bless you. Problem solved. Thank you so much. Can't tell you how happy this makes me! (Jeez, maybe I need to get a life if such a small thing elates me!)

Your welcome Logique. I run it in XP SP3. Vista and Win7 have compatibility modes so it should work fine with these.
