Will the general population ever revolt?

They will probably revolt when it's too late.

Maybe people are apathetic because they think that no matter who they vote for, they're going to get screwed anyway.

There is only 3 ways to replace a government.

1. Win an election. This is 99.99% impossible for any but the major parties to do due to historical links and salience, and general voter apathy.

So, your saying you think people are so lazy, they won't vote for change but are prepared to go the hard yards and mount an insurrection ? All they have to do is NOT vote for Labor or Liberal to see some change.. if change is what they want to see but be careful what you wish for

The majority people are happy with perceived change eg Rudd for Howard and the majority are happy, god only knows why exchanging one sugar coated turd for another makes anyone happy but there ya have politics for ya

That says more about how good they think things are then anything else.

but then look at Iceland, they protested and booted them out.. to be replaced by more of the same...

Im not wishing for anything, purely hypothetical discussion only. I agree that people would try to change things through voting first, but its our political system that screws things over. One person or a small group cannot achieve anything through politics due to the way it is structured

He said it was 'The panic of 08 and the collapse of 09'
