Why do American actresses come to Australia in winter expecting to be hot?

That`s what I can`t understand,Jennifer Anistor did it,Kate Hudson did it,they come here in winter and then show up in summer dresses for their opening nights. What about all their hangers on,aren`t these people paid to know things that their charges are too famous to think about,
not a biggi but I think relevant none-the-less. :

purely from a blokes point of view i dont want to see them in a huge coats ect. and that is probably the crux of it....its all PR and glamourous perception

And by the way ,why is not the same pressure put on the blokes ,they dont seem to lose too many fans by turning up appropiately attired,you know in a warm tux or winter clothes.

i cant explain that but i do like getting in a tux and i hate being cold im am also happy ladies make these sacrifices

Vanity is all that matters, you silly woman. You are not supposed to be practical and consider the potential pneumonia. You just have to look sexy and cute, no matter what.

I have to say that I can remember going to balls (in the days when that was the thing to do in a civilised society) in Christchurch, NZ in the middle of winter in strapless dresses. Must have been crazy.

I hear you ,(never having been to a ball,admittedly)but with all this equal rights ,and so forth.
You`d think that glamour could be wrapped up in some designer rags that at least would go some way to not making the wearer of some piece of material look silly.And as cold as death.

It is a myth to think that you can get pneumonia or even a cold from being exposed to cold air.

There are no bad side effects whatsoever from being exposed to cold air for a short time.

So maybe these American chicks are smarter than you think? Why dress up when you you don't need to

I suspect thats the same logic that leads you to claim that what you are wearing on your head is natural hair as opposed to a wig! by the way your eyebrows dont match your hair.Next time a little more consideration to the wig maybe!!!!

My dad worked in a fish factory for years and got pnemaunia every year at winter time which was compiled by going in and out of freezers all day
Under doctor's orders he got reassigned to a cushier number untill his retirement came up

Both are viral - not caused by temperature...

There are two main types of pneumonia :

Infective pneumonia: Inflammation and infection of the lungs and bronchial tubes that occurs when a bacteria (bacterial pneumonia) or virus (viral pneumonia) gets into the lungs and starts to reproduce.

Aspiration pneumonia: An inflammation of the lungs and bronchial tubes caused by inhaling vomit, mucous, or other bodily fluids. Aspiration pneumonia can also be caused by inhaling certain chemicals.

Don't shoot the messsenger mate. I'm just reporting facts.. Infact on Channel 9 the other night on that good health show they discussed it and concluded colds are not caused by cold weather, however the virus is often more prevalent in cold climates.

You do not catch it from being cold!!!

So if you rug up in winter or go nude in winter either way you have more chance of catching it than someone who works in a freezer in summer.

Pneumonia is not caused from cold tempartures - if you think someone who lives in Hawaii can't get it you are an idiot! Pom's and Russians probably think Aussies can't get pneumonia - hahaha.

The original question was about women wearing nothing in winter.

What I said is correct. You have no more chance of getting pneumonia if you are nude in the snoey streets for a short period of time, or if you are rugged up in front of a heater.

You told me your old man got it from working in a freezer - maybe he did I wont argue as it is personal, but maybe he didn't.

As I said look up the causes of it. There's no such cause as "being exposed to cold air".

If pnemeunia is more prevalent in cold conditions then certainly you are at more risk of getting it when exposed to cold air...which is contrary to what youv'e said

Okay you are right, unless you wear woollen socks, a pink scarf and a yellow cardigan today and every day over winter you will definately die of pneumonia.

I read somewhere eskimo's dont get pnemonia they suffer from a complaint called ice-hole freeze or burn, very painful
