Put your nomination in now for the closing level for the ASX200 (XJO) as at the last trading day for this financial year 29th June. I will put forward an optimistic level of about 6550, but then again nothing looks like stopping this bull

I reckon somewhere around 6400-6500.

Unc, that's sorta ambiguous ;) - you've been talking to rampers on the other website havn't you, lol. (sometimes I wonder if the entire market is built on bull ) - just a jest. ;)

I guess I'm neutral to slightly pessimistic in the short term , maybe a dip below 6000 (purely based on what's happened in previous years etc) - might have recovered again by 30June of course.
but this is pure guesswork. DYOR, or rather UYOCB (Use your own crystal ball) :2twocents

I am pretty confident it will finish over 6600.

Still a lot of heat in the market.

No one worries about the possibility of a May Sell-offs? I think metals and AUD may cool down a bit in May and ASX200 does not have too much upside if there will be a pull-off from the metals.

I'm with you Devil_Star. I reckon that the AUD has got to cool off a bit in the next month or so, plus metals will start cooling.

That said, I do think the dollar will keep heading upwards later in the year, and Jim Rogers reckons we're only at the beginning of the commodities boom:

"It's true that more people are investing in commodities than previously, but against a background of around 70,000 mutual funds looking at stocks and bonds, there are under 50 for commodities. And you may know ten pension funds in the U.K. that invest in commodities, but there are 10,000 others that haven't," he said. (from Dow Jones newswires in London last November, by Andrew Hotter).

I think the commodities will unavoidably end in tears, but it can't be in 2007. I'm still bullish to ASX. For the shorter term, there should be a correction ahead, considering the Jap may take profits & sell down their australian assets, possible May rate rise, and the million super game...
