Happy - Rather than disabling the firewall completely, perhaps you could try listing https://iress.com.au and/or https://web.iress.com.au in "trusted sites" found by going to IE toolbar > tools > internet options > security > click on "trusted sites" > click the "sites" button. I guess you could also use the "privacy" tab to allow cookes for Iress as well if it's still a problem.

Is anyone else getting network problem with etrade just now???

I logged on this morning at about 10.30 but i think i am down now... dunno why

Anyone else having trouble with etrade this morning? Locked up on me bout 15 min ago and cant seem to log back in. Keep getting th following message

Was working fine up until 10 mins ago.

Im getting the same here.......

Same here.

Called them and there's a problem with the server. (maybe a mouse died in there again)

Try logging back in in about 10 mins is the solution. That's great!

I've just phoned them as I was having the same problem as above.
Advice is that it's a problem at their end (well, really?) and should be fixed in about ten minutes. (Don't hold your breath.)

I have the same problem. Etrade does seem to have this problem every now and then. Just frustrated coz I can't trade or watch the stocks.

It happened to both existing Etrade account and the "new" HSBC transferred account.

Strange enough, I could log in earlier today, but can't refresh the watchlist. Got this "SQL Server does not exist or access denied." However my Power E is working.

Unfortunately I restarted the PC and now can't access any. :angry:

Had similar problems, even got scare when Power Etrade reset itself several times, but came back on line every time.

Luckily they are back to full speed now.

Guys,honestly stop whining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there`s nothing wrong with ETRADE,honestly,it`s just because you don`t know what you are doing,no,really!!!
At least I was assured as such ,once they got tired of getting my emails,it did end up with me telling them ,they were incompetent and to stop using cheap labour or work experience kids,but again that was me overreacting.
Anyway glad other people aren`t having the same problem as me.

Oh well might as well laugh,

Now they have put all their staff on leave.

NAB's been working fine so far

I do still have my investment account with Etrade though, but don't trade on it very often.

I have been unable to log on to the website since yesterday (2 Jan 2007), what a great start for the new year. Anyone else have trouble logging in?
