What drives people to become prostitutes?

Re: What drives people to prostitutes?

Oh, for heaven's sake, Flying Fish! They are simply running a business.
They are offering a service. Their clients wish to buy that service.
The fact that a bloke chooses to pay for something which is somewhat unavailable to him elsewhere is no one's business, and does not classify him as unstable, whatever that means.

e.g. as I said in my original post, many of the clients of these fairly exclusive call girls were top businessmen, politicians etc, for whom the notion of an affair would be out of the question in terms of their public image. By using the services of a prostitute, no one gets hurt and no careers are ruined.

Really? Why would one be forced into the situation wher they have to pay for this?

Seems like they would be playing on the emotions.

Umm, I wouldn't think emotions had a whole lot to do with these transactions.

Julia
like these girls you meet on the internet -
and they say that they're having an organism or some such
but I reckon
they just go through the e-motions ;)

like the old bloke says to the hooker
"mmmmm -nowwwww I'm gonna take out me teeth .. mmmm m... so that ... ahhh .... you'll have .. ...mmm.... more room to ... errrrr... put your tongue in ..... ok?" :eek3:

Stop you guys you are killing me,
who is this flying fish? Glad I stopped in though.

From my very limited experience with prostitutes...4 in total.

1. a young uni student told me that she needed $500 per week to live
and finish school...so her choice was full time at McDonald's or 1 day
a week in a ***** house...

2. a twenty something...who told me that she liked it..prefered it to sitting home and watching tv...she had a "normal" day job.

3 and 4..i didn't get the opportunity to ask.:D

Well you do have a point Julia, until the prostitute gets caught that is,after that it becomes all about the little black book and how much power his/her friends can yield on the right person.

Re: What drives people to prostitutes?

shame on you Smurf - contributing to global warming like that - I bet there was more steam coming out your ears than Loy Yang !!! ;)
Loy Yang... Now there's something neither of us ever thought of using as a photo background. Would have been a nice excuse for a trip. There were quite a few other "industrial" ones though.:)

Re: What drives people to prostitutes?

Indeed it is a case of "so I'm told". We actually met at a political rally at the Huonville Town Hall in early 1995. She knew more about the issue than probably 95% of people there, politicians (of both major parties) included.

Lives in Sydney now though we are still in regular contact. The only "business" I've done with her was as a photographer taking a few "adult" photos for a poster (fairly clean shots - just a pose with no others involved).

Doing such photos is actually quite a lot harder than you might expect - sorry guys but it really is mind on the photo and off the girl 100% of the time and it's nowhere near as much fun as you might expect. In all seriousness it does qualify as "work" and yes I was paid for the shots.:2twocents

Do you need me to help with the shoot Smurf?

I can hold the light sensor, arrange the equipment, put make up on......

All voluntary off course. :D

What an appropriate article I found in yesterdays paper

APEC boost for brothel business -

September 08, 2007 10:35pm

INTERSTATE prostitutes were brought into Sydney to help service the 300 per cent spike in brothel business during APEC, the Adult Business Association (ABA) says.

APEC-themed specials on offer at Sydney brothels included the Condi Combo, the UN Duo and the Presidential Platter.

“It's been going gangbusters,” NSW spokesman for the ABA Chris Seage told Fairfax newspapers.

“Businesses that were banking on a 200 per cent increase in business have done better than that with it up by 300 per cent.

“There have been secret service agents, trade envoys, but no Putins yet.”

Mr Seage said suburban brothels were also getting extra work from locals deciding to stay closer to home during APEC.

Taxpayers money at work.

At least not until she retires, writes her memoirs full of names and naughty details, and sells it to the highest bidder :D

Or some tabloid photographer snaps them together on a luxury yacht somewhere.

While working in Canberra I found that the majority of prostitutes were uni students, followed by house wives....just trying to make ends meet.:(

Well we should ask Kevin Rudd why he decided to become a smug media prostitute?

Oh yes he is an approval seeker
