Not holding Warrego either but an interested bystander watching from the sidelines.

Shareholding in Warrego Energy Limited

Mineral Resources Limited (ASX:MIN) (MinRes or Company) lodged a substantial shareholder notice on 17 January 2023 which confirmed that the Company has acquired approximately 234 million shares in Warrego Energy Limited (ASX:WGO) (Warrego), representing a 19.17% interest in Warrego.

This shareholding is considered to be a strategic stake. MinRes does not intend to make a takeover bid or other offer for WGO, and is of the opinion that gas asset prices in the Perth Basin are now over-inflated.

Good morning divs4ever,
Not sure about ownership, no more. All too good for rcw1. Here's another beauty, wrong thread, but all inextricably interwoven ... it is rcw1's understanding that Macquarie exercised their options in STX yesterday (19/01/23) and promptly sold them 20mil to Regal ha ha ha ha ha ha

Have a very nice day today.

Kind regards

WGO has certainly attracted some interest from other companies

time will tell if that is a good thing for WGO holders , ( or would they have rather been left alone to develop to resources themselves )

Truth be told, cannot see Gina, falling on any sword, or allowing wiggle room to lose competitive edge. only getting more adamant in her quest. for mine she will acquire ownership of WGO at some stage, but may well have to make some concessions to get over the line, sooner rather than later. Nothing settled yet. STX will have its work cut out for it and will become vulnerable, for mine.

Just swinging head first in the breeze ha ha ha ha

MIN [holds 19.7% of WGO] has stated that it will not be making a T/O bid for WGO.
It wouldn't surprise me if MIN offloaded WGO shares to Gina and in exchange Gina offloaded her NWE shares to MIN
Both would then be closer to achieving control of WGO & NWE respectively
Just pure speculation by me [I'm no billionaire]
