Just realised today that with the looming WA State Election forthcoming I will have to get my act together and get an early vote in, as I will be "comfortably" ensconsed in St John's Hospital shortly.
Off to Guildford on Saturday to cast a vote.

How's it all running on that side?
NSW is running downhill under the new Labor government. At least he put up some fight against the unions though

IMO Labor have done a fairly good job, they have had a very healthy balance sheet and haven't gone on an ego driven spending binge.

So I doubt they will lose any voters, the one area that is getting interesting is the electrical grid, being an islanded system the transition is a balancing act.
Labor have done a good job of getting it this far, so again it isn't an issue with the voters.

I really can't see the Liberals making any headway, if there is any negative sentiment toward labor, IMO it will be down to the Feds not the State Govt. :2twocents

The Lib/Nats need to gain a few seats imo. otherwise there isn't an opposition.

The problem for the opposition is, W.A has been led by pretty good Premiers for quite some time, 2008- present IMO.

Under Barnett a lot of infrastructure was built eg Fiona Stanley hospital, New Princess Margaret Children's hospital, Joondalup health campus, Midland health campus, Optus stadium, Elizabeth Quay, Freeway extensions etc.

Then McGowan took office in 2017 and continued the trend by getting the GST agreement with the Feds through and the infrastructure build kept its momentum. Covid struck and he showed strong leadership and didn't bog the State industrial/mining base down with over the top lockdowns. He also showed a bit of loyalty to blue collar workers by establishing the new Midland train assembly workshop, to assemble the new rolling stock for the metro rail.

The freeway infrastructure continued to expand without blowing the State budget and since Roger Cook took over in 2023, he has continued with the same theme, the metro rail has been extended without overstretching the State finances and things just seem to be rolling along as normal.

The general public like that sort of approach, it feels like the Govt is doing its job without the fanfare and fuss, so I just can't see why anyone will want change at the moment, the transition to renewables will be the biggest challenge to the current Government IMO.

Only my thoughts.

They seem to have given up in many areas for the most part
Apart from being the poor relation in Parliament they have had far too many leaders in the Party over the last eight years, five so far. Now that Basil Zemplis, "I can do anything" is trying his hand at State level perhaps he will be No 6.
Can't really see the Lib/Nat combination being a political threat for some time to come.
Negativity is their swansong

WA Labor so far have been pretty good Liberals have a group called the Clan (religious right) pretty much destroyed the party here current leader is very good however local TV come Perth City Council Mayor keen to take over still to be elected but Clan still dominate. You always need a effective opposition party Liberals are a long way off

@IFocus looking down the tunnel there is no light there with the L Plate Lib/Nat Party name on it.

I think/hope they sort out the issues but the money side of town need to throw their support behind anyone but the Clan
The money side of town is behind Labor, it usually is, as history has shown.
The good thing is W.A Labor in recent times, seem to be an ok bunch, which historically hasn't always been the case.

Talking to a couple of dyed in the blue wool Liberals recently and even they have given up voting for the political Learners this time round.
Their opinion is the Party is just a bunch of misfits with some very poorly selected candidates.
Best give Roger Cook and Crew another go is what they reckon.
