What it means, not what it stands for - Global Financial Crisis, I heard someone say it the other day who has never uttered a single economic term in their life, seen it written a few times as well. As if 3 letters sums it all up. I guess its just dumbing it down for the matrix dwellers
 

That's the first time i have heard it referred to in a TLA. It really doesn't do the whole mess the justice it deserves to sum it up in three works does it.

Most of the time they are just comments or interests that could go into an existing thread.Like there is a pet peeves thread which could have been used instead of starting this new thread.

Another thing I dislike is the word hate.Worse than swear words in my opinion.

And in my world I dislike people who are sly or cunning and run people down behind their back, people who force judgement/opinion on others, people who think their poo doesn`t smell (especially pretty faced women), people who pry into my finances, business and general private life, people that lie to my face, manipulative types

I must be due to meet some good people .

Yeah, it conjuers up images of fools standing around the water cooler talking about last night's reality TV show. Then someone has a momentary lapse of sanity and says something like, "hey did you notice company XYZ is laying off 500 workers?" and the hip happening moron that overheard the term GFC when he accidently flipped to the news channel for 5 seconds, realizes his opportunity to impress his peers by throwing out his latest piece of jargon "Yeah its the GFC" and everyone nods as though they know what he's talking about and then disperse back to their corner of the matrix.
 
I hate people who use acronyms, jargon and txt spk. I mean, WTF? Imho, thy shd b bnnd fm frms!

Yes I dislike all those too, really glad Howard introduced the ban on guns.

Never seen a pet peeves thread, there is a problem whereas it's sometimes hard to find a thread that is right for the latest brain explosion that you want to inflict on others so duplicate threads emerge, not sure how to deal with that, maybe I should start another "house prices are falling thread" and see what happens if I force the issue

Nah.. Have 3 of my own. I think I'm just an old Gen Y at times. Because my 360 died on me (RROD - red ring of death) n I have to get it fixed. So I guess I might hate microsoft for producing something with a known design fault. Bit like windows, really....

Actually I dislike these thinsg. Hate is too strong an emotion to waste on these sort of things. I use txt speak on my fone - wife and daughter (she's 22) don't like it at all! I just want to get as much message into those 160 character spaces as possible.

Anopther long post - someone here said they hate them. LOL.
 
I used HATE, I could have used "dislike" would that have been more politically correct ? would it still have offended the "Puppet workshop for disabled Aboriginal parents without partners"

Cats that come onto my property forcing my own cat to fight. I break it up and I am the only one that gets hurt.

P.S. This was during the day which is unusual. I don't let my cat out at night.
 
Those who proclaim that something should or shouldn't be done in relation to a subject they know nothing about, especially when their demands take on a religious-like approach.

Water is the example that first comes to mind but there are plenty of others. Lots of "experts" who know nothing about the subject at hand insisting on what we all ought to be doing about it.

This made me LOL.

I hate the way people conform for the sake of conforming.
I hate the way many people live their lives based on cliche and stereotype.
I despise the whole notion of people who are happy to go on doing the same thing day in day out yet continue to complain that they hate their job or hate where they live or whatever it is and fail to attempt to do anything about their situation.
 
I hate people who talk in the cinema and tell the story ahead of time
