The Voice

What's even more funnier, is that even though they had the rah rah session at Alice Springs, even though they have known about the concept of the voice for all this time, as I just posted from your ABC, nobody has been to see the communities yet.

Just shows how interested they really are in listening to the grass roots people, they haven't even bother their ar$e to go out and explain the voice to the communities and the politicians expect us to take it seriously even they don't.

The only ones showing any real enthusiasm on Labors behalf is @IFocus and @rederob , the minister, the department, the State Govt departments and all their employees and not one goes to the communities and explains the purpose and intent of the Voice to them. :whistling:

What a fkn joke.
What will be even funnier will be if they start going out there now, it will show someone in Government reads ASF, or Rob still has a contact. ?

Just to refresh you all, the ABC posted this 14 hrs ago, so it is fairly current.

Let's get back to the 6 P's, pizz poor planning, pizz poor presentation, will lead to a pizz poor outcome.

Nothing to do with Labor SP its to do about improving lives such a novel idea seems to be beyond most here quoting politics.

Well don't you think the main targets of the proposed changes should be given a heads up? :roflmao:
Don't you realise how crazy it is, when every person in Australia has to vote on something and even those who are most affected don't know what it is they are voting on.
That's pretty bizzare.

I mean they are selling this on the fact that no one has listened to the grass roots people, and they haven't told the grass roots people. ?

What was interesting about Bishops position of the Voice was her observations about the failures to close the gap after everything was tried.... except to listen to the people themselves.

This is supported by the productivity commission report showing how government has ignore advice from Aboriginals and the failures that followed but noted where advice was used programs had much higher out comes... who would have thought.

But unfortunately fear, deception, doubt and BS will win the day, politicians love useful idiots.

So what advice do you think the Voice will give IFocus ?

You have obviously been 'out there' and talked to people.

I for one don't think about the Referendum much, rarely discuss it with friends or family, don't follow it on X or other social media, but I thought about it tonight. So it is a means of communicating one segment of our population's, our Indigenous Cousins, and their disadvantage in a meaningful way to Parliament or Cabinet, whatever, ( just shows how much I know about it ).

It is aimed to get rid of the disadvantage.

So ... What happens when the disadvantage is gotten rid of. ? ?

gg

The more the govt gives the bigger the waste, they buy depreciating assets, new cars, TVs, and more junk.

It's the same grubs from the failed ATSIC that are stepping up into the voice representatives, that's why they can't tell anyone who they'll be.
Even Lidia Thorpe walked out on them during the Ulura commission, some of the land council reps weren't even invited at all.

How is formal recognition in the constitution going to help bridge the gap?
Luckily I know that @Joe Blow prevents multiple ids here, but but parodying @SirRumpole's wilful ignorance is not an argument.
You could at least have a go at reading or understanding a massive amount of information that is widely available, and has occasionally been linked here. Aside from that, in this thread I have gone beyond the public info and shown how the mechanics of policy making will change.
Despite this you regurgitate a theme that has many times been covered in this thread over its almost 100 pages to date.

Last poll I saw said 80% ATSI backed the Voice

That is exactly what I said, if you read back through the post, I also said how stupid is that, when those who are responsible for the Voice, haven't explained it to those it affects. It's even more stupid that no one has even made any effort to try to inform them.

What needs to happen is the Departments of aboriginal affairs all need sacking, not just another group added to them, just because a brain fart comes from your best mate doesn't make it smell better IMO.
What you are basically saying is the Departments that have been dealing with the indigenous haven't been doing their job, so we are going to add a voice to them, so that they know what their job is. Priceless.
If they said we are doing away with the department of aboriginal affairs because it has been a failure, we are replacing the minister with a committee made up of aboriginal representatives, that will report and act with the cabinet in office, that makes sense.
To just add another group, to the group that has been proven useless, is stupid.

Last poll I saw was a group of 750 people, as with any poll you can get the result you want, just poll the people who agree with you.

Polls remind me of a tour the wife and I took to Olympus, the tour guide gave us a questionaire and some pencils to rate the tour, then she went back to her seat on the bus and commenced correcting them with a rubber. :roflmao:

How would explaining 100% of the Voice affect indigenous voting when they represent 3% of the total?
Did you think that one through?

Why?
A lot of the failure is due to continuous changes in government, policy, and funding.
Then there's the fact that ATSI issues cover many departments and 3 separate levels of government.
That's 2 brain farts from you in a row.

It's somewhat incidental to what's necessary for the referendum to get up. A composite view of polling to date is here. On trend the referendum has no hope of passing.

That makes no sense to anyone but yourself. ?
Did you actually read that one through.
No one who is responsible for educating the community on the voice has made the effort to reach out to the remote communities at all, if they are expected to make a valued decision on a vote that the outcome affects them, someone is responsible for that function and it has been another failure by that department.

As usual a public service with a myriad of excuses for complete failure to perform their function, as explained by yourself in several posts.
That's two nil.?

Because it is fundamentally flawed.

Let's see:
100% of indigenous = 3% of total voters
Therefore 3% of all voters will lead to the referendum being passed
Your maths teacher failed you.

That's the role of the electoral commission.

Lets see:
The voice affects 100% of indigenous living in remote communities, 0% have been visited and had it explained to them.
Your comprehension teacher appears lacking.

Then is them that are a 100% failure, that just proves my point, that whoever was responsible for conveying the 'voice' to the communities has failed, as I said Sir Humphrey.

You can't answer it just like Albo, because there is no difference other than they can try to screw with the high courts. You have 8 ATIS senators and 3 MPs, what more do you want, If they don't listen there are obviously other problems. Maybe you should self reflect about the one who is telling the mistruths.

I'll leave this here for everyone to judge for themselves and spread the truth that the leading govt will not.

Have you ever watched one of those crime shows where they interrogate a suspect for an alleged offense and the suspect gives answers that are incoherent and or tries to convince the interrogators of circumstances of events because they're trying to hide the truthful events? Well, the voice comes across exactly like this to me.

Why don't you actually read posts or, at least, go and read on the background leading up to the Voice?
Or do you lack comprehension skills?

Not a single post to date has validated a no vote on reason.

Lets see:
The voice affects 100% of indigenous living in remote communities, 0% have been visited and had it explained to them.
Your comprehension teacher appears lacking.
Given the topic was about the percentage of voters needed for a yes vote to pass, and had nothing to do with if anything was explained or not, I can see why your posts are a confusing mess.
Then is them that are a 100% failure, that just proves my point, that whoever was responsible for conveying the 'voice' to the communities has failed, as I said Sir Humphrey.
Why?
The AEC does not post out information until closer to the voting date.
In the meantime we get racist tropes, lies, deception, conspiracy theories and misinformation from proponents of the no vote. So if there is a failure here it rests largely with dishonesty and feeble mindedness becoming more and more prevalent in society.

Just wait a sec

Hey Albo, is the voice a means into entering a treaty?

Albo: No, it's not. :roflmao:
