I'd say it's vindictive labor tactics but there's no way to speed up native title claims, this is the issue for them. The Native title act has to run a course in the courts to be proven, they just don't hand the land over willy nilly, there is a whole heap of complex issues to solve in the courts before they can consider it and then you have the costs of it.Well my guess is the whole thing will be pulled and re written, due to W.A's new native title laws, as I said as with the E.V mileage tax, the State Government has gazzumped the Feds yet again.
With E.V's the States grabbed the fuel tax off the Feds and now with the State Native title rules, they have jumped in and taxed the land owner to pay for Aboriginal compensation which would have been the ultimate goal of the 'Voice', so now in todays paper there is talk that the Feds will have to overwrite the State ruling.
Another brain fart exploding into the atmosphere, the Feds are already in the Supreme court over the E.V mileage tax, if they don't fix it they will be in over this issue also, or lose the ability to off load the indigenous cost onto landowners.
As I said earlier McGowan has pulled off a blinder, no wonder he bailed out on a high, the Feds would have hated him IMO.

I haven't seen Hastie's pamphlet, but he must spend a lot on advertising, because he is always putting out something I never read any of it.We both got pamphlets from Hastie (more proof that's all the Coalition do is issue pamphlets) saying the Coalition want to give Aboriginals recognition, after 10 years in power where is it.
As to what they mean maybe ask Hastie then sit back and listen to BS.
Dutton attended many briefings on the Voice he is recorded as asking no questions or requesting any changes.
Dutton needs a win and this is an easy one for him, still the radical news coming out of his old department confirms his values.
Yes, it's not written into the constitution but If they're not recognised as the original owners how do they receive native titles and compensation in some cases? When you sell your house do they pay your neighbour?Where in the constitution is there recognition?
If there isn't then why?
Yes, it's an overt level of racism that beggars belief. The sticking point for me has always been the permanent enshrinement in the Constitution.
Yet another lame excuse from the no voters. What if there is an improvement? What if we vote this thing in and in 5 years there has been no improvement in the indigenous peoples position ?
Yet more racism shining through.Certain people have a job for life and we pay for them with nothing to show for it. That's not on.
Read the background papers and you might actually learn why your regurgitated nonsense is exactly that.Legislate it, and see how it goes. If it gets results fine, if not abolish it.
What's wrong with that ?
Foxtrot Oscar.Yet more racism shining through.
Personal wealth does that to politicians, they lose touch with reality and being located in Sydney/Canberra and Melbourne turbo charges that smugness.
You have just done a loop around Australia, how any indigenous issues did you see between Brisbane and Melbourne on the coast run? none would be my guess.

How is formal recognition in the constitution going to help bridge the gap? What you are mentioning is covered by laws under legislation nothing to do with constitutional recognition so I don't understand your point.
Albo will be like, I knows nothing, whistle, whistle, whistle...Burney proves Albo is a liar
Some would say the same of yourself IFocus. ?Julie Bishop addressed the National Press Club today said the "Voice" was a step in the right direction...
Cue haters...
I never warmed to the woman ever still don't but interesting her views once free of the political shackles.
I for one don't think about the Referendum much, rarely discuss it with friends or family, don't follow it on X or other social media, but I thought about it tonight. So it is a means of communicating one segment of our population's, our Indigenous Cousins, and their disadvantage in a meaningful way to Parliament or Cabinet, whatever, ( just shows how much I know about it ).
It is aimed to get rid of the disadvantage.
So ... What happens when the disadvantage is gotten rid of. ? ?

The Hon Julie Bishop
ANU Chancellor the Hon Julie Bishop will discuss the implications of a number of ‘megatrends’ that have important implications for Australia and the international community. These are the issues that can bring fundamental change to the economy, educational institutions, governance and our daily...www.npc.org.au
What's even funnier, is that even though they had the rah rah session at Alice Springs, even though they have known about the concept of the voice for all this time, as I just posted from your ABC, nobody has been to see the communities yet. What was interesting about Bishops position of the Voice was her observations about the failures to close the gap after everything was tried.... except to listen to the people themselves.
This is supported by the productivity commission report showing how government has ignore advice from Aboriginals and the failures that followed but noted where advice was used programs had much higher out comes... who would have thought.
But unfortunately fear, deception, doubt and BS will win the day, politicians love useful idiots.
