The Voice

This is a really important point. It seems that Aboriginals don't understand the general history of the World and even their own history. Maybe because they haven't read it, or it was never recorded. Humans have invaded and dispossessed other humans for thousands of years. It's only really been since the Peace of Westphalia that borders were somewhat respected but not even generally accepted until the late 1800s. If there was any documented Aboriginal history I'm sure we'd see boundaries between tribes changing radically over time with some tribes wiped out completely. There's a complete lack of perspective here.

The problem with that worn out old trobe is Terra Nullius I.e. there was no one here thats the basis of our revered (apparently) constitution.

Next problem if you ever read your history the killing murder massacre of Aboriginal men women and children ran into the 1920’s.

Both my grandparents fought in the trenches of France both seriously wounded one repeatedly a good decade before the below

Police officer in the NT openly admitted in court killing at least 30 men and women estimates established 100 to 200 were killed in an operation to arrest two accused this was 1928!

He was never charged for the multiple murders but according to you it was OK?

That’s less than a hundred years ago.

The mass killing of women and children never stopped after federation was that OK?

Google Aboriginal Massacres it actually pretty bleak a lot was barbarism no matter what the age, acceptable not ever hence you won’t find it in any school curriculum.

Finally the Burrup where rivers of cash have flow for many enriching Australians except for the Aboriginals who had been there for thousands of years responsible for the rock art.
They were butchered by police and settlers in a pincer move to entrap them women and kids as well.

I don't know if my memory serves me correctly, but I think it was you @IFocus (and @SirRumpole may be able to confirm it) that back in about 2010, I had a disagreement as to how Kevin Rudd's splash of cash after the GFC was focused.

From memory I said it was crazy to send out all that stimulus to people to buy Chinese plasma T.V's from Harvey Norman, he should have used the stimulus to compensate the aboriginals for dispossession of their land and then the money could have improved their situation and been spent in Australia.

Now we have history repeating, you are on the Labor hymn sheet and I'm saying it is just another brain fart.

Can't wait to se how it pans out, probably the same as the clean energy brain fart, great ideas stuffed up by pizz poor implementation.
Time will tell, but that's a bit of our living memory, that is still growing.
In 1981 I was in Wiluna and there was a 6' high cyclone fence with three strands of barbed wire, I asked the headmaster are they having troubles with break ins, he said it is to actually stop the kids leaving the school.
So to say this is ground breaking is nonsense.

The cash throw away was actually Ken Henry’s idea “go retail go early “ or similar it worked.

As for Wiluna spoke to the same headmaster (81) the fence was to keep the kid’s parents out they kept sleeping in the yard your memory is crap ?

He was very informative about how the town function and you would have noticed the big drawing of the kid on the wall showing all the health issues they had to contend with long before they got to actually teaching

Gee, there's so many racists in this country...

Regional poll spells trouble for Voice

Support for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament has hit a record low, according to polling published Monday.

The online poll of 10,131 voters conducted by Australian Community Media's research division found 38 per cent of respondents indicated they would vote 'Yes', the lowest recorded support for the Voice from any poll so far.

55 per cent of respondents voted 'No' to the Voice, with seven per cent undecided.

I don't think they can or will do it, but perhaps the best course of action for Albo is to either postpone the vote, or change the wording to get bipartisan support. Otherwise this is going to be a really bad outcome. The Left are going to go nuts if they lose this. I'm imagining French style rioting in the streets.

You certainly have a VIVID imagination Sean. I mean if you somehow think there will such a deadly outbreak of violence if The Voice doesn't get up what do you suggest might happen if it does ? Perhaps Advance Australia and One Nation will join in a Kumbaya singalong with the Marxist/Feminist/Trans/One eyed Pagan worshipers ?

At this stage I'm interested to see how the Opposition responds to Advance Australia's colourful ad. A bracing blast from the racist past if ever we saw one. Forget thoughtful, considered analysis . Just press the hot buttons and throw some red meat to the crowd. I thought the red T shirt and hammer and sickle on Thomas Mayo was just classical. Not to mention the lovely paternal tone. :troll:

I don't see the connection between that cartoon and racism. What am I missing? Don't you know Mayo is a Commie?

Indeed you won't Sean. No surprise there of course. But be quite assured the message will get through. It was Matt Kean who blew the first whistle and Monique Ryan followed up.

I'll be fascinated to see how Peter Dutton responds

So, you don't know either. What I see is nepotism between the WES Chairman, the Teals and the Yes Communist leader. He's using shareholder's money to virtue signal to the yes campaign.

It seems the Left are calling racism on just about any counter argument or jibe against the veracity of the yes case. Lame tactics that will backfire. Much like the recruitment of celebrity sportsters to promote the yes case. Australians generally don't like to be lectured to.

Linda Burney really needs to be taken off the yes promotion case too. Calling the no vote 'Trump like' is akin to the famous 'deplorable' call from Clinton that put Trump in.

I say, keep up the racist accusations. It's hollow, without merit and only strengthens the no case.

Albo pushing this through without bipartisan support could potentially end his leadership.

IF the Voice vote receives a solid, outright hiding by the population, it will be a nice little win for Western civilisation. Maybe for its symbolic significance even approaching the recent US Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action.

Background on Advance Australia which funded and posted the "Don't worry Sweetheart" ad.

Still doesn't explain why it's racist. AA seems to be no different to a GetUp! Are you a member of GetUp!, or Extinction Rebellion, or the like? I'm guessing yes.

The horse has reached the other end of the country and started to canter home leaving a poisonous pile of crap in its wake.
Nonetheless the "Stable door has been bolted"

I'm surprised bas didn't put this cartoon in the "Political Satire" thread along with all the shovel cartoons.

I don't think its racist, its just not particularly helpful to the debate.

And I agree the No case could do better.

I don't think the no case need to resort to making insulting observations either, the yes case is simply killing itself. It's looking like one of the most ham-fisted attempts to change our egalitarian governance system in history.

Exactly.

The race card is the *only card they have to play, so they massively overplay it.

When the only tool you have us a hammer, everything starts looking like a nail. Sooooo lowbrow.

You will likely get your wish but it will be a win for British Colonialism and all its inherent flaws racism at its heart and no doubt help you worship your head of state a Pom a proud Australian ?

Still doesn't explain why it's racist.

A benevolent whitey sitting on high with his whitey daughter is waving $2m over a raggedy black "child" (who is COMMIE !) . Implication of course is this is filling his pockets.

If you want to understand where it sits in racist tropes check out the history of US reconstruction in post 1490

I can quite understand Sean why you can't see the racism and merde in this picture. What is so interesting is that if you go to Advance Australi website you can see a 10 point plan for explaining why people should vote No. But when it comes to the pointy end of makingthis stick they revert to this.

They are clearly confident that they won't lose any votes.

Everyone regardless of ethnicity is free to compete - anyone gets too successful and they will be taxed accordingly. It's a basically sound model. It's why migrants and refugees only want to live in the cultural West. There will never be completely equal outcomes - luck plays a part in the game of life for sure, but inherent qualities are also significant. Personally I'd leave head of state stuff, for the time being at least, as is as it ensures a permanent tangible connection to a powerful state to which we have an enduring cultural affinity - also frankly that connection is literally what the ol' diggers were all about.

OK, so you agree that the Voice is racist. We can move on.

And, why be upset that Mayo singled out as a Commie, Comrade Bas, or whoever you are?
