He has put his name on it. Things will happen. It's actually important to the government as it's a budget blowout. It's not union run.You are an optimist @Knobby22
..I am not so sure..
Luckily, a few current affairs shows etc might bring this mess to the attention of the union cohorts, and force a corrective move.
Not so sure about the Housing department scandal or the Aborigiise affairs disasters.
As @sptrawler mentioned, only a labour government can act even a bit properly on any of the sensitive subjects: gender, religion, welfare, union, aborigines ...any move by the coalition would be torpedoed by media, judges, UN commissions and unknown "personalities" at a mere suggestion.
Let's hope not too many unions are involved in these rorts and ALP will have some balls..but can as steer regrow balls Mr @farmerge ?
Have all a great week end, and for many..but not us in Qld , a long one
ALP is union run, remember how Rudd lost on that one , so de facto, CFMEU/ unions are running the country, until ALP loses power, with expected outcomesHe has put his name on it. Things will happen. It's actually important to the government as it's a budget blowout. It's not union run.
@qldfrog It would be a biblical coming if a nutted steer was to get them back as a working pair. You are an optimist @Knobby22

This is the thing I worry about. Public service wages have been jacked over the years. Most are not worth the money. Going to Be Greece like rumblings if the economy falls in a heap.More unintended consequences, the cost to produce stuff is going up and demand is going down.

Still heading Argentina way without a Javier saviour in sight, J just hope we will avoid a Falkland episode. This is the thing I worry about. Public service wages have been jacked over the years. Most are not worth the money. Going to Be Greece like rumblings if the economy falls in a heap.
HS Fresh Food, which is a major supplier of salads and fresh produce to Coles and Woolworths, has been placed in voluntary administration, with more than 500 jobs across the nation reliant on a successful sale or restructure of the business.
Tasmania-headquartered HS Fresh Food is the parent company for the brands Houston’s Farm, Sunfresh, Gourmet Selections and HS Fresh Farms, with its products including bagged salad leaf varieties such as baby spinach and rocket, and pre-packaged salads.
The company has a national network of farms and food processing and manufacturing sites, with operations in Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia and New South Wales.
The company employs more than 500 people according to its online profile.
FTI Consulting’s Ben Campbell, Joanne Dunn and Vaughan Strawbridge have been appointed as administrators, and Mr Strawbridge said on Tuesday they intend to seek a restructuring and/or sale of the group, while continuing to trade the business.
“We are working with HS Fresh Food Group’s management team and staff, and other stakeholders to continue operations while we secure the future of the business,’’ Mr Strawbridge said.

“A sale process for the business and assets of the HS Fresh Food Group was undertaken and in advanced stages at the time our appointment.
“We intend to continue this process, whilst exploring all available options, and are confident of completing a sale and/or recapitalisation of the business in an expedited time frame with the support of all relevant stakeholders.”
FTI said HS Fresh Food was “a leading player in the food industry with national coverage and one of the broadest sets of growing and processing capabilities within the fresh food sector. “The vertically integrated, multi-branded and Australian-owned food producing and processing business specialises in fresh salads, bagged salad leaves, deli products, ready-made meals and pre-prepared vegetables.’’
The group has numerous shareholders, having acquired a number of businesses over the years.
WA-based Gourmet Selections, for example, has been operating since 1991, and produces a wide range of bagged salads and salad bowls.
i hold WOW ( 'free-carried' ) and COL ( courtesy of the WES demerger )It is getting tough out there, for consumers and business. Major fresh produce supplier HS Fresh Food has been placed in administration
I don't buy ready mad salads, but I have always wondered how they balance wastage; my thinking is that readymade salades need to be continually moved off the shelf. I presumed that the profit margin was high enough to cover all costs and wastages, but with consumer spending be diminished by higher expenses, taxes and interest rates, those readymade salads are staying on the shelves.
am trying to gauge the ripple effect across the relevant regionsPretty sure supplying supermarkets have very little markup.
You are either geared up for it or into it for brand exposure.
Funny you mention that, the oldest son mentioned he has started taking his lunch to work. Lolin the current economy one cannot safely assumed that niche market will be replaced ( many more workers might resort to bringing home-made meals to work )
i usually , but i often worked erratic hours and/or night-shift , luxury was having a working microwave oven on site, but whole micro-economies revolve around workers who buy lunch/dinner during the working dayFunny you mention that, the oldest son mentioned he has started taking his lunch to work. Lol
Gillard was a puppet of Mossad, it was Mark Leibler and his pals in the media that had Rudd sacked. it was over 3 Mossad isreal agents in Australia on fake passports Rudd wanted deported and Leibler refusedALP is union run, remember how Rudd lost on that one , so de facto, CFMEU/ unions are running the country, until ALP loses power, with expected outcomes
Indeed.whole micro-economies revolve around workers who buy lunch/dinner during the working day
one man's trash is another's treasure.Another sign that things are getting hard, bin rummaging on the verge.
In a place we visited recently overseas, the city rubbish bins were all emptied onto the streets, hopefully the economy doesn't get that bad
Unfortunately, these are the people that are seen but not seen.I saw an old lady going through the bins at our local shopping centre looking for bottles and cans. I haven't seen that for a long time in my area.
