Do we have a thread with really useful information? Thought not.
OK, that's what this thread is for.

How to chill a can of drink from room temperature to really cold in about 2 to 3 minutes!

It is! I could have been a hero on some fishing trips if I had known this trick, as both salt and ice was to hand, and beer was not quite cold enough

I dont know whether this Really useful, but I just repaired 2 electronic car keys that cost $130 for new ones, the little buttons that lock and unlock 2005 Commodore had failed because the plastic covers over the button breaks, so in order to activate them, you had to poke a twig or something into the reccesed button.

So i cut a small dowel (from a twig) and taped around with electrical tape.

They work fine, and the fix should last, so instead of paying another $130 for each new key, now I have enough keys for all users

Skyquake - where did you find that?
Before I start my tirade against the developer I would like to understand more about what it is indicating.
Is this saying that vitamin D taken oraly is "scientifically" benificial? Whats the point when vD is produced by the human body when exposed to sunlight? It is also saying that Vitamin C consumed oraly is "not worth while". Sorry - disagree here too.

Cheers

They list their sources too, from journals to pubmed.

"Showing Tangible health benefits when taken orally ..."
The chart takes into account of what people need rather than what is simply good for you, ie actually supplementing your diet with things that you probably lack.
For example vit C is "not worth while" because almost everyone gets their dose naturally one way or another; while Vit D synthesis requires a fair bit of sunlight which lots of ppl are arguably not getting enough of, hence the need to supplement it.

Once again Timmy, that's some really useful information right there!

I'm off to give it a try

You can chuck in some choc chips too Prof.

This is the thread that just keeps on giving.
