Outcome ?

Partner tripped on steps this morning , and took it on the noggin ... ambo or local hospital? Cleaned up the mess and drove her; was seen to before I could find a park. But follow up needed, so to RPA, and dropped her off at ED. Quick trip home, on return she'd been assessed, had ecg, assessed no concussion, doped up, had 20 stitches, patched and paperwork done. Two hospitals, three hours total.
20 stitches !!! Nice story.

Hope you don't get a visit from the DV cops tonight. :roflmao:

I get a molar ripped out tomorrow.
So, 1 visit to dentist instead of at least 3 for the alternative root canal therapy and probably only 25% of the cost.
Who needs teeth, right?!

Nice positive outcome, unfortunate about the stitches though.

That is quite a number of stitches required. My very best wishes to your partner and hope for a speedy recovery.

Yeah , I was quoted well over a grand and the dentist was not that confident of success either . Root canal work is a bit of a big deal for your average , suburban dentist . Without a guarantee and not being young anymore , I too, chose the big yank-out.
Losing just one molar is a bit of a nuisance but there's worse , I'm sure.
Look after them choppers , kids . Floss and brush ( gently, so as not to do long term damage to your gums ) after every meal. Every 2 years get 'em cleaned , too! It costs money but I for one ,am so glad I did it right all my life. ( Thanks mum )

It cost me a grand to get a tooth pulled.

What? It's literally a shot of lignocaine and rip the feckin thing out with pliers!

I recently had a partially erupted wisdom tooth pulled that had disintegrated into about 5 pieces. I didn't want to go under a general so it was all a bit agricultural, but it was less than $300.

Suburban Brisbane.

Yes exactly. All over in 5 minutes. Local anaesthetic. A rip-off. Orange NSW.

Comparison... Keratoma surgery on a horse's hoof (which bears many similarities to a human tooth). Surgeon, anaesthetist, two vet nurses, me (and I have to craft a special aluminium shoe), aftercare etc, is only about 2k or a bit over.

A few years ago I had a triple root canal done.
All I wanted was the mongrel pulled out.
Went to 3 different dentists and not one would accomodate that for me.
In agony I finished up with a dental speciailst and then the local dentist and7k later with a cap on said molar which is now slightly under height and gathers food on it.

This is the positive part of this episode.
Never, ever again will I be caught out on somthing like this.

Also I had a cousin, now sadly departed, who had the same trouble with the same molar but magnified by 2 as the pposite one was also causing him grief.
Could not find anyone to yank them out.
Seems to a family trait in my lot with this particular molar and being a triple root canal.

Australian female pole vaulter won gold at the world champs last night. The US world champ and olympic medalist agreed to share the gold with her as they'd both cleared the same height and didn't want to go to a jump off. Good vibes.

Warsaw athlete entered pole vault, and stole 10,000 zlotys.

By crickey those two female pole vaulters made me feel dizzy at the heights they achieved. No way would I put they faith into that bendy pole and go up and over the bar feet first.
