There is a lot of negativity around so we now have a thread where we say positive things like ... my son got best on field, I won the meat tray at the pub, the local train has been updated.

I will start:
Got my poo test results back today and was given the all clear.

I have a decent dose of the flu but not dying (being positive)

Going to Vietnam in a few days time on a whim.

I hope you're going to Hanoi and Halong Bay. Sitting on little plastic chairs drinking beer on the streets of Hanoi is a travel highlight for me.

Gratuitous travel photos from Hanoi:

It depends on your budget Mike. I went there as a backpacker following Lonely Planet recommendations. At the time, the value for money was absurd. LIke, 20 bucks for what would be 100 anywhere else. Not sure now. If I was going back, I'd just go to Trip Advisor and pick one of the top 10. Another option is to book one night and then take a day to walk around and move into something more salubrious.

If budget allows, stay a night or two on a boat in Halong Bay. Canoe to the remote islands and a visit to the floating villages most interesting....the Pelican (boat ) was good in those days. The food was great........enjoy your holiday, Mike.

I have such a structured life atm I am refusing to make anything but abaturory plans.

@eskys ? Sa Pa , Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh and Ha Long. Thats all I wanna do and plan to take my time doing it.

Interesting thread. Have we finally hit "negative news" exhaustion?

This year feels like a change in people's behaviour in that they now avoid negative experiences to the point of blocking it out.

Not here in Victoria.
We are wallowing in negativity.

On a brighter note:
Met Topher Field again in a Cigar shop, Torak.

Today would have to be one of the most positive that I have had for sometime, apart from seeing the sun rise and set each day.
Got finally paid for a job after a lot of chasing, another came forward with folding, had a scam confirmed by Telstra and then sold a hay mower I have had advertised for week. Couldn't be more positive than that.

Outcome ?

Partner tripped on steps this morning , and took it on the noggin ... ambo or local hospital? Cleaned up the mess and drove her; was seen to before I could find a park. But follow up needed, so to RPA, and dropped her off at ED. Quick trip home, on return she'd been assessed, had ecg, assessed no concussion, doped up, had 20 stitches, patched and paperwork done. Two hospitals, three hours total.
