The lunatic right

Always had time for John Pesutto. Bit of clarity and statesmanship in that stand.
Don't know how it will go down with the hard right Christain conservative group.
John Pesutto understands that he needs to change the image of the party. He wants to win the next election.

At the moment they act like an opposition only, infighting over a diminishing number of seats, courting the extreme right on niche issues and believing Sky News stuff to their detriment.

These days, some in the party has become aligned the the extreme right which make them unvoteable. Even though Labor has been in a number of terms, there is a bit of a stink and everyone is sick of seeing Dan Andrews all the time, the Libs lost the last election by even more than the previous biggest ever landslide election.

The only voters they are attracting are the extreme right and the neo Nazis.

When they got in last time they had moderates in charge and concentrated on helping small business, control of debt, infrastructure, public transport, healthcare etc. it's a state government, that is what people care about.
Now we get neo Nazi types hating sections of the community - black immigrants, trans people, gay people, super strong views on banning abortion, virtually no women in their ranks, a complete inablity to attack Andrews. Honestly if Bolt and Newscorp manage to get rid of Pesutto now as they are trying to do, they will lose the next election by even more!!!

You don't want to mess with the Christian Right groups. Very muscular indeed.
Interesting to see how the events were framed in different media. News Com also reported the incident but put "parenthesis" around the peaceful LGBT activists.

Two men have been charged after riot police were called to a church in south-west Sydney yesterday, where hundreds of people surrounded a small group protesting a speech by NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham.

Key points:

  • Police say the violent confrontation will not be tolerated
  • LGBTQI+ activists Community Action for Rainbow Rights claim members were attacked
  • Mark Latham has condemned the violence

LGBTQI+ group Community Action for Rainbow Rights claimed they were "attacked" and pelted with rocks and bottles by hundreds of men, which met them outside St Michael's Church in Belfield.

The group says about 15 of its members were there to peacefully protest an "anti-trans" speech by Mr Latham.
It also claims punches were thrown at members as they were "surrounded by a mob 30 times their size".

Superintendent Sheridan Waldau, from NSW Police, said peaceful protesters were rushed by a "mob" of about 250 people who had attended the church event.

I believe what happened at Latham's talk last night is good.

Trannies vs Godbotherers.

What a topline act.

Popcorn time.

Eventually there will be a reaction, to constant unchecked action, it was bound to happen and will probably just get worse.
The alphabet brigade have had a very successful and long run, you would think they wouldn't keep pushing the envelope, they have been heard they have been recognised, time to sit back and take stock IMO.
They need to accept, that some people will have different beliefs to what they do and accept that.

Right-Wing Pundit- If Trump is Arrested, Barack Obama Should be Executed [VIDEO]

By Todd Neikirk / Mar 20, 2023

During a recent broadcast, Pete Santilli said that Barack Obama should be executed by a firing squad if Trump is arrested.

The former President knew he would be riling up his supporters by tweeting out his belief that he was soon to be arrested. In the message, he also asked for his supporters to take to the streets.

The post on Truth Social certainly did rile up Trump's fans, perhaps no one more than Pete Santilli, who does a radio broadcast. He pleaded, "Get the military, whatever few are left that are gonna side with the people. That you military personnel and you people with guns and badges and law enforcement will succumb to the will of the people."

The right-wing radio host continued:
"And ultimately, we demand, we absolutely demand that the criminals, the criminals in this country, if you want them held accountable, the criminals are Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Susan Rice. This entire criminal cabal that came about as a result of the murder of John F. Kennedy, the people that perpetrated the murder of John F. Kennedy, rise up to that."

Latham is a self-promoting grub.

Takes his soap box to a church in Belfield, a stones throw from Lakemba knowing full well what would happen. He condemns the violence, what a con when it was all planned.

From the other thread:

Thanks Wayne for giving us the opportunity to check out Left wing Watch.

The comparison is stark isn't it ? Really shows just what is happening out there in terms of some really disturbing xhite...

On the one hand we have Right Wing watch . It has 374,200 Followers. To date it has 48100 tweets. As I said just checking the latest tweets for 10 minutes throws up some quite horrifying characters. These are extended commentaries by high profile right wing people eg Pete Santilli who advocates shooting President Obama if Trump is indicted to Nick Fuentes demanding that if/when Trump becomes President again he must hold onto power in any way he can. Never lose power again.

On the other hand we have Left Wing Watch. It has 12 followers and 4 tweets. Now I'm sure there must be more stuff that can be trawled off the net that the pearl clutchers can swoon over. But you know what ? Those 4 15 sec clips were as weak as xiss.

Mrs O'Shea always told us to stay in the Centre in Grade 1 as we negotiated a pedestrian crossing.

Good advice.

A Pox on the Right and Left.

Well there is always:

and

if follower count means something to you

Not necessarily. Content means far more. And there only 4 posts in your original offering. The question is "What are people saying/highlighting about political views that adds to useful information about where that political force is heading" ?

The first Twitter mlink focuses, I think solely, on Trans issues. I agree we should have a conversation about the direction/impact of trans sex identity. I don't believe reducing it to a Left/Right argument is useful. It isn't simple. It shouldn't be made simplistic. Turning it into a hate campaign and calling anyone who doesn't agree with a strident anti trans position as "paedos" is xhite. It undermines any rational discussions.

Ahhh, neo Nazis.

Outside court, Sewell and Hersant told journalists they were innocent of the charges, despite entering guilty pleas.

They spouted homophobic and anti-Semitic slurs and walked off.

Into the rabbit hole of accelerationists conspiracy theories that led to the murder of the two Queensland Police Officers last December. Ticks every box = repeatedly.

Inside the god-fearing and conspiratorial worldviews of Donald Day Jr

To many of his neighbours in Heber-Overgaard, a rural community of around 3,000 people in Arizona's Navajo County, Donald Day Jr was a peculiar recluse who advertised rotary phones and used goods on Facebook Marketplace.
WARNING: This story contains strong language and references to political violence

But in Australia, he was the enigmatic figure linked to last December's deadly shooting in Wieambilla, Queensland. His face, but not his full name, had circulated across social media after two police officers and a resident were killed in what police have described as a religiously motivated terrorist attack following a welfare check gone wrong.

Two of the shooters, Stacey and Gareth Train, were killed by police. Earlier they had filmed themselves saying: "We'll see you at home, Don. Love you."

Mr Day — with his long grey hair and chunky septum ring — appeared in his own video shortly after. Walking through a snowy field, he mourned his "sister" and "brother" Stacey and Gareth (whom he called Jane and Daniel) who died killing "f***ing devils".

For nearly a year, law enforcement in Australia and the United States did not disclose his identity. Then earlier this week the FB
I released an indictment alleging the Arizona extremist was a longtime confidant of the Trains, first connecting with them in May 2020.
Mr Day's arrest and charge for inciting violence became the talk of his town.

"He was quite far-right … he wasn't anybody I wanted to meet," Heber-Overgaard resident Phillip Williams told ABC Investigations after Mr Day was arrested last week.
