What's all that flour for? To prevent chafing between your thighs?
Who needs to bake when there's plenty of fresh bread baked everyday, everywhere in great varieties? You could always freeze your bread to avoid having to go out and buy it regularly.

My son makes home made pasta. It's fantastic.
We bought the machine last year.
Also for cakes, apple crumble etc.

Oh well I guess your son will have to buy cakes and crumble already made! :D However despite the shortage, I have recently seen packeted pasta around.

Bend over in the shower, assume the tunnel ball position, reach back and spread your cheeks and let the magic happen naturally under the rose!
Well, that was my back up plan if I run out of toilet paper.:xyxthumbs

Heading back to normal in my area. Only pasta and toilet paper missing. Shops are handling the load on the other goods.

Wifey went to Coles today, had everything except for the lentils. Daughter is a vegetarian.

Haven't seen any yeast for weeks either.
Doesn't bother me, have some in the cupboard out of date by 5 years.
Probably get a few bacteria still working after 20 years...
The wife is whinging about it though... she who must be obeyed.

Bread's another thing I've seen the shelves stripped bare of......
Forget the preservative bread like TipTop, Helgas etc... from the long aisle shelves. Go to the bakery section of the big supermarkets where you find the fresh stuff like ciabatta, rustic rolls, turkish, pastries, etc which are made every few hours ;)

Fleabay needs a new thread...
The system is now allowing for false advertising IMO.
IE, listings with multiple items at different prices.
The search now returns your desired item at the apparently cheaper price of one of the other items in the multiple listing.
I got caught out.
I searched 1GB usb flash drives.
Went through the search results, and picked one which seemed reasonable value. Around $2 each.
Bought a dozen, for the missus to give shoplifter video footage to Police.

When I received them, I then realised that the deceitful seller had tricked me into buying 1 megabyte drives through the eBay facilitated system.

The search result I got was different to the product/price offered, as they had no 1GB stock left...

I have no hesitation in saying that the majority of the deceptive listings originate from China and eBay appears to be facilitating this deception, by allowing multiple priced items in 1 listing and incorrect search results.
It could be the sellers using sophisticated code to bypass or manipulate eBay search results though.

Oh, and the newish import GST that eBay collects, does that really get back to the ATO ?

@Joe Blow can you please put this into a new thread if you feel like it?
Name it what you will.

Been meaning to report eBay to ASIC for seemingly allowing the deliberate misleading/ deceptive advertising suck in shenanigans on their platform....

I ordered to some $1 stuff from China through ebay at least a month ago. Hell knows when/if I'll receive it.

@frugal.rock I already noticed that some tiime ago when I was considering getting some USB sticks too. I noticed on their description page that there is a dropdown box that, if not initiated, will default to the cheapest item e.g. 1MB. I always read the full description, check the image and look for any anomalies in a paranoid way before clicking buy.

Where is this shoplifter video footage being taken?

From memory, the drop-down was deceptive also...
Seller didn't give a rat's when I complained.
I should do a chargeback from the bank/ credit card.

Shoplifter footage at a Priceline Pharmacy.

I heard crime statistics for (Newcastle) NSW a few years ago... the reduction in pubs/ clubs late opening hours had reduced alcohol related violence offences, however there was a spike in shoplifting offences.
Several reports to Police also indicated that they didn't give a rat's.
They don't until stats get out of hand... the Police seem to be more responsive now...

I love Helgas, these are the ingredients in their "Wholemeal" offering

Wholemeal wheat flour (62%), water, rye meal (3%), yeast, wheat gluten, iodised salt, vinegar, canola oil, soy flour, vegetable emulsifiers (481, 471, 472e), mineral salt (calcium carbonate), vitamins (thiamin, folic acid).

No preservatives...

Banana bread recipe downloads up 450%, I heard. Home baking as well

A wonderful opportunity to spend some time with the kids, and pass on some skills. Keep 'em occupied and instill some values other than rampant consumerism (and cardboard food)

Been baking my own bread for yonks. Still plenty of yeast here and I've still have about 10 kg of wholemeal bakers flour. On cooler days a slow cooker with water, on low heat and lid inverted does well for proofing.

Got kids? Teach them the art of using a pressure cooker - not the electric one the proper one!

OK I'll take your word for it but it never takes like the real thing straight from a bakery. It's got a rubbery texture to it that tastes heavy and artificial. It doesn't have that crisp, flaky exterior with a light fluffy inside.
