The completely useless irrelevant thread

Our local Shire has imposed a Total Fire Ban and a Harvest and vehicle Movement Ban for tomorrow.
With 42 deg forecast I can't see a need to be driving across paddocks or such like.
The cows aren't stupid, because by early to mid-morning they will be stationed under their favourite trees for most of the day.
The best shade is of course close to the water troughs.

24 December and the range hood decides to crap itself. A number of electricians have shut down until the New Year. Who would have thunk it?

I found which power circuit it's on and turned that off. Fortunately, stove top and oven work but lost the microwave and TV which are no big deal. Moved the microwave to a power point which works on the bench top. Thank heaven's the power point for the kettle also works so I can make a coffee otherwise it would have been kill, kill and kill again.

Not that i would ever recommend any DIY electric work but can you not open and disconnect your rangehood?
Good luck and have a nice Christmas

Considered and dismissed faster than I can type this post. Under no circumstances will I attempt DIY electrical work. While I acknowledge I'm no bright spark I definitely do not want to be one and D(I)Ying.

Confusion... Sitting near an obviously Chinese heritage family, all speaking German.

No reason why not, just had to do a double-take

expect a number of books on Winston Churchill in ten years time. He died on 24 Jan 1965,

Now British copyrights expire 70 years after the author’s death. Quoting Churchill accurately is not only tricky—it can be costly. Because of a decades-old copyright arrangement with his literary agency, Churchill’s estate charges a fee to quote from almost everything he published, including speeches. The fees go to a trust controlled by institutions and heirs. The licensing requirement doesn’t cover Churchill’s off-the-cuff remarks or, says his estate’s agent Gordon Wise, brief quotations in journalism or criticism permitted as fair use.

personally, I don't believe that many of the ASF members understand what this thread is for, given that so many of the posts in other threads belong firmly in this one.

Is this true? I'm not a ginga, but definately have the gene (my beard is ginger).

So 2% of redheads are built differently. I always thought that females were anyway.
But I don't have a university degree to prove that I am clever, just street smarts that say I am knowledgeable.

As a former Ranga ( what little hair is left has gone gray),I would most definitely agree with that premise.
Two of my kids and three of my grandkids are also Rangas, and are a bit out there as well.
(one of them who is staying with us, just wandered into the bedroom at 6.00 a.m. and demanded toast made out of brown bread with honey and peanut butter and with the crusts cut off or breakfast).
