Will be having a look around July and August.
Anyone over there interested in catching up (putting faces to handles) happy to meet up for a beer and a few laughs one night around London.
Will also be in Lakes District.

I was thinking the other day that those that want to could meet up.Obviously location is an issue and although from the UK I live in New Zealand now.

Lake District my favourite place in the world !!

When I make my million I will live in N.Z six months and the Lake District the other six months.:)

Don't bother with the Tourist hotspots like Windermere, Keswick etc.I would head towards the mountains and passes.Just awsome !!

Maybe we could organise ASF's own seminar weekend :)

My experience is that it isn't good for contributers to meet.
It kills discussion in the forum. Especially robust discussion.

Hope you have a good break Tech, post some pix of the countryside in the holidays snaps thread if convenient, going bungy jumping again??

Hi regatwests

out of curiosity, why is that regatwest?

I have met 2 people I chat to on another site and imo meeting someone face to face makes it easier to talk to them later on in a forum like this.

Now that I have tech/a's name and address I might even surprise the living day lights out of him one day and pop in for a beer  :D

cheers

bullmarket :)

Ive met a few as well, none from ASF but a dozen or so from Reef.

Always been a good experience and at least you know who your having a discussion with.
Met people in most states of AUST and some in NZ when over their last.Missed Duc unfortunately.

Will do the Pik thing and if your ever in Adelaide Bullmarket look me up.
Never been to the UK.

Precious is from Rugby. She has a wide circle of friends all over the UK and Scotland,so lookforward to meeting up with them all.
Have time in Thialand both in and out.

Met a couple of guys in the US last trip.
Travel is a passion and I used to white knuckle fly,now you cant keep me off the things.

I'm truly envious Tech, England is my favourite place in the world.. and now you can get German beer there it's even better.

I'll be over there soon but not in time to catch up with you there. But you'll love it. Fantastic place.

2nd on my list of favourite places is the southern German speaking regions (Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland etc)

Just loooove their culture (and beer of course, there are 500 breweries in Bavaria alone, some no bigger than a double garage :D ) That would be my detour on the way to England.

I came back as cargo last time

I was based at "Wests" newcastle Aust. for 9 years. Where I picked up the nickname Regatwests. . I no longer work there as my company failed to win the last contract. I have been considering to change it to regnotatwests but that's too many letters. My ye olde nick, "balls" doesn't seem appropriate anymore ...

regarding contributers meeting. My experience goes back to picnic days
when 30 odd contributers in newsgroup forums got together for the day.
it killed the discussion in the group for weeks after each picnic. Especially robust discussion.
