No Amibroker. Can optimise portfolios.
Metastock cant.
Tradesim can test multiple systems in portfolio form---multiple stocks of a universe of anything you like.
I just posted a screen shot of Metastock doing just that.

Metastock can:
1. test multiple systems on a single stock
2. test a single system on multiple stocks
3. test multiple systems on multiple stocks

I don't follow what you are saying here. Maybe you post a screen shot of Tradesims portfolio analysis to make it clear?

Sure Metastock can do all those, but all the stats are produced on an individual stock basis. It is the portfolio level simulation, which Amibroker can perform and Metastock can’t (without Tradesim). By portfolio simulation I mean the ability for a user to specify

1) the maximum number of open positions in a portfolio at any point in time
2) the position sizing to be used for each stock taken
3) the stock universe from which trades are to be drawn from
4) the buy and sell signals (which can be individually programmed depending on the stock that it is currently processing)
5) how trades can be prioritised in the event that there are more signals given than available open positions etc etc

With this information, Amibroker can construct a portfolio simulation that will tell you which stocks are currently in your portfolio at any point in time, the entire tradelist consisting of trades from all the stocks in your universe and how your portfolio performed as a whole, instead of reporting individual stock performance (which Amibroker can produce as well if desired)

Last, but not least, the ability to optimize across a portfolio so that one is able to identify optimum parameter settings on the basis of how the portfolio as a whole will perform instead of being on an individual stock basis.
