Not surprised by the feat WA is well known to the South Africans

That is the lady. I didn't see that site before but I read it in a paper somewhere. Apparently it guided itself by stars and the magnetic field I remember reading.
This is from the site in your link:
it may have used visual stimuli, perhaps in the form of celestial cues, as an important navigational mechanism in addition to, or instead of following gradients in earth’s magnetic field as commonly accepted for sharks.

Yikes - it is dangerous snorkelling in WA. No new thread on 'Boat Attack' though? 'Jaws' has a lot to answer for.

I think WA won the deaths on roads this year for the Xmas break as well

How do you think you would feel if this was you in one of the kayaks?

The incident took place in Sydney, Australia, on the same day that Brian Guest, of Perth, was killed by a shark on the other side of the country.

One of the group was even knocked into the water by the shark, and was forced to tread water while the man-eating creature circled him for a minute.
