I would just like to point out that our 'GOOD' friend George W Bush can not run for president for the 3rd time, as the same for any of the past genuinely good leaders of the country

think we were referring to the midterms m8 - and voting to increase or decrease his majoriti(es). - But bludy good point that he winds up in 2008 - collective sigh of relief - even to the americans I would reckon.

Probably when Saddam has been released we'll see a change for the better, to run the US gov't...amazing what a bit of cosmetic surgery will do.....I actualy liked old MADDAS...at least he wasn't a hypocrate!

Saddams sons use to go through highschool year books and pick girls with whom they wanted to bang... I say my idea of capitol punishment is reasonable... Might want to throw in some electricity as well but only before the kereosine.

I'm not sure what the death of Saddam is going to achieve, apart from more racial violence in Iraq.

So he got convicted for killing 130 people? Murders that were permissed by Reagan.

And how many people have died in Chechnya? In western China? In Tibet?

I'm not doubting that Saddam was a murderer, but there are two points I think should be made.

1) He needs to be tried in the Netherlands.
2) He needs to be tried on offences that relate to his major crimes against the Kurds, not a comparatively minuscule offence, like he has been tried for.

As long as he is still alive, there is a chance of getting answers out of him.

Wonder if they'll let him tell his story before he dies - about the US French etc assistance - in fact downright encouragement - in setting up weapons of mass destruction during the Iran -Iraq war. There was a really interesting 4 corners program aired about 3 or 4 months before the recent war. (maybe end 2002) - Didnt paint the west in a very good light at all. Bludy hypocrites really.

BUT - as if he will be allowed to give his version before he dies. Write a bestseller lol.

EQUALLY, Iran doesnt trust the west because of these horrible historical skeletons in the cupboard. (our assistance to Suddam against them) etc.

The new US tactic is allegedy gonna try the diplomatic route ( yet again) bringing Iran and Syria on board. mmm believe it when I see it personally.

Don't get me wrong - Saddam was an animal - his dynasty if it continued would probably have gone from bard to verse (sorry for that ). OR most optimistic would be that it would have been so bad that the Shiite majority would have rebelled. (slim chance I guess). But the west AINT GONNA GET cred with me until they stop this selective dripfeeding totally distorted propaganda. And in any case we need to be informed rather than hoodwinked if we are gonna get it right

PS maybe the Democrat majorities will get a bit more share of "question time" in future ?
