Stop

I think you are alone in feeling this way.
I know what u mean, as some posters have said about property or shares but only as an example to aid their explanation of how profitable a system may or not be.
I found it helpful.

I agree i have and i know others have used there own financial positions as a an example to explain there situation with others. i dont think people do it to inflate their own egos as you say stop. stc i think you should really open your eyes before you say these stupid things. :D

Just for the record:
Battman offered to meet Nick Radge when he was in Perth
Offer is always open for Joe (could have used $1000 bet)
& now doctorj has refused who lives local. :)

Have I missed something ?

Why does Battman want to meet these people ?

I'm not sure why Battman/Bronte don't follow the rules that everyone else has to follow- keep it on topic, make quality posts, do not abuse the report post function and be aware that I will ban you next time Bronte/Battman. You've been here long enough to know how it works, I very much doubt the SPI thread will die without you, it's just another market and many people trade it, keep those personal issues out of here please. I don't know what Nick Radge and your dealings with him have to do with anything, keep it to yourselves and off ASF. None of this pseudo-victim stuff and constant complaining via the report post function anymore guys, you are both grown people.

I know some quality posters here like Margaret may bemoan your absence but it's upto you to decide how you want to behave on ASF. There are plenty of other forums where you can post and advertise your views and services. These are my opinions and may not reflect the opinion of other moderators or of Joe, the site administrator.

As for rating systems, I agree with what GP, Julia, Smurf etc have said about it- we can judge posters for ourselves, there is no need to cause confusion by using various salutations or ranks apart from some basic information on how long someone has been on a site and how much they have posted, the current system also encourages people to read past posts by a person to assess their contributions and we have actually gone over this in an old thread about the seniority tags we use ('veteran', 'newbie' etc). It should also be noted that the quality of an individual's contribution can vary over time, are we then to demote them as the quality falls? How are these things to be properly quantified and enforced? Is it worth the hassle?

In my observations, when Bronte is not being taunted, she generally just trucks along, posts her information, accepts other people's methods and is pleasant to other posters. When she is taunted and accused of all sorts of crazy things, she defends herself - is that really behaving badly?

I only lent a helping hand in this situation as I felt Bronte has been treated unfairly on numerous occasions and that there was a need for more tolerance - there is enough of the "I'm right and you're wrong" attitude causing real wars in our world without bringing it into ASF.

Is it too much to ask that we try to accept that we are different, have different posting styles, different styles of analysis and trading, different personalities, etc.

Life is short - let's make it as peaceful as we can :)

Stop
Get serious
I dont think that is the approach on this forum at all

To be honest i have less than $5000 in the bank, no properties, still at uni and not working full time, but i dont think any1 really cares??

Probably the only person to give me 1 gold star or half a star (because i havent reached 5Gs) would be you, as i dont think other people on this forum judge posters this way.

As long you do your research and post something relatively useful, its all good!

So I assume you are technicaly bankrupt? (thanks to HECS)

You are not alone, same as the many millions of other people who attend uni. Their net wealth ends up being debt.

Thanks for your honesty and If it makes you feel any better I am not much better off than yourself so do I get a gold star?

Just go work overseas and right it off dummy.

How about ratings for individual posts? Like http://slashdot.org/

I'm not an asf junkie and don't go around reading everyone's posts noting their names to see whether they're any good.

and net worth doesn't really mean someone's smart, I have relatively ok wealth but it's been managed by my financial planner most of my life.

Thanks to all who posted, Yes I got your message ;)

Guess the new members will need to read heaps & heaps of posts to form an opinion of who is worth reading in depth.
But 50 comments out of 5000 members  Hey !

Bob.
