Respect or lack thereof

People in general are so much more aggressive ATM
This I'd agree with. It's the underlying sense of hostility and quick to take offence. I actually think it's a huge rise in anxiety. People have reached a point of being broken.

I was in Sydney the other week (and it's been like this for a while) but you can walk through thousands of people in the city and no one acknowledges anyone. It's rare to see spontaneous chats.

I was on the tram and having a chat to a woman with a pram about the difficulties of manoeuvring through Sydney with it. I'll chat sht with anyone but it was interesting to see the other passengers smirking at some of my dumb stories or wanting to join in the conversation, but holding back for whatever reason. Interestingly enough the woman I was talking to wasn't from the Sydney either.

I suppose a nation of anxious people are in more need of government taking control. Which is great for politicians.
Whether or not that's by design is debatable.Perhaps it's just another indication of a proper recession looming.
But if I were to guess, it would be having a huge impact on gdp.

Been to Perth?

It is a cultural backwater, a police state run by dictator wannabes.
I've always found Perth fairly friendly, you always get the muppets, but generaly I find people chat and say hello.
When travelling in Aus, I find S.A and Queensland similar to Perth, but Vic and NSW people actively avoid engagement and eye contact, well that's the perception the wife and I have had.

Oh the people are lovely. We have lots of old friends and new friends. But on what planet is the pub deserted by 8 pm and kicked out by 830?

It's like a damned flea circus.

I think that has been caused by a few things, firstly 12 hr shifts and fifo work have changed the social aspect of pubs to a once a week get together and the indexing of the price has made pub drinking too bloody expensive. Lol

@sptrawler For me I steer clear of pub drinking these days.
If I was to lose my driver's licence because of that 1 extra tipple it would be disastrous.

Interesting to see on the evening TV news tonight that the local police and AFP were patrolling around the Rossmoyne Hight School today, where the brain crazed 16 year old was a student.
It appears that the prayer room was somewhat unattended so who knows what sort of b/s was being floated around in that room in the absence of supervision.
The only good thing to come out of this sorry saga is that this oxygen thief cannot terrorise the public again.
The couple of Imans who were interviewed have tut-tuttered but it is the radical ones that are the real worry.

I should be able to get the goss on it when I get home, the grandson goes to the school.
The parents must be devastated, most people pay a big premium to buy into the Rosmoyne high school zone, as it is one of the most respected public high schools in Perth, so I would guess the parents were invested in the boys education.
Shame he went off the rails.

Well if he is anything like me, he regulates his intake, to his visual perception of distances and motion.
Years and years of experience there. ;)

Mind you I got caught out a few months ago drinking IIPAs at my local. Didn't realise they were 8.5%.

To say I got unintentionally rat-@rsed is an understatement

You have to love the Gina Rinehart pile on at the moment, over some less than flattering pictures she would like taken down.
We wonder why our youth has mental health issues, when they see the adults behaving in a manner, they don't want their children to behave in.

Looks like we could be heading towards societal breakdown if this sort of thing continues.

On the other hand, the media only publishes the bad news so maybe we are being conditioned to believe the worst.
do you think its been pushed this way by design or accident?

No mate. They have repeatedly said what they want to do and are achieving.

Just follow the World Economic Forum's site.
i know if true its destressing for the victums!..but the irony of it all, the self righous, vurtue signaling freaks, only hope is the whole organisation is torn apart and the hypocrites are locked away

ASEAN (Bernama-Sputnik): Employees at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos have accused its founder, Klaus Schwab, and leadership of discrimination and harassment against women and people of colour, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing employees, according to Sputnik.

During his long tenure, Schwab allowed an atmosphere to develop that was toxic to women and people of colour, with at least six female employees fired during pregnancy or after returning from parental leave, the report read. Other women mentioned sexual harassment by senior managers and Schwab himself, the report added.

Internal complaints have also been filed after black employees were unapologetically called out and excluded from the forum or prevented from promotion, the report read.

On May 21, the Semafor news website reported that Schwab was to leave his role, which he had been holding since the forum's foundation in 1971, and become a non-executive chairman.
