I read the rules and know it's not permitted to submit price "Ramp-Up" posts, however, I do find it disturbing that it seems to be allowable for site members to "talk down" prices!

Wouldn't the principle outcome, to lower a stock's value, be the same as "Ramp-Up" in terms of Shorting?

If a reason why the price is going to get trashed is posted i can't see the big deal there.

Actually, fading the up/down rampers is often a good strategy.

You are not allowed to ramp up or down prices. If you provide a price target, or even opinion of price direction you must back it up with evidence.

Thanks

Would be helpful if you can illustrate with some examples.

The rules are about whether your claim has any fact / analysis behind it, not whether you are ramping up or talking down.

Sry sounded like a mod there.

Go you good thing [insert your own holding here].

Jez, if you think a post is a ramp (and you disagree on the direction of the ramp :D), use the report post icon, circled in the illustration below:

what happens if you press the button? is it a self destruct button :p:

A negative post isn't always a down ramp...often as far as im concerned its just a genuine reflection of reality.

A few weeks ago a person posted in the GDY thread...asking why the price had fallen, i posted about the well blow out investigation results announcement (negative) after all how can a well blow out be good news :dunno: so its not always a ramp...sometimes its just reality.
