In relation to Tony Abbott, the part of her reply that was good was where she reminded him of his judgement in relation to standing in front of signs such as "ditch the witch".The real Julia stood up yesterday.

If she had principals that went beyond attaining and clinging to power, she could have been an outstanding political leader and PM.

That-man and the reference to her late father I thought were the worst bits. The whole speech reeked of desperation, but that wasn't the point.Really? I thought that was one of the worst bits. It was made clear at the time that Abbott didn't endorse those sort of comments nor did most people who were protesting. To drag that up again reeked of desperation to me.

+1. I just don't know why he needed to give her any opportunity to sling back at him. He held the moral advantage and gave some of it away.It was an opportunity she foolishly took. It will ultimately reinforce the public view that she will say (and do) anything to cling to power.
I think the signs got behind him not him getting himself in front of them.

''If a male politician had made the same speech, it would have been seen as strong and decisive and leadership. And that's where you get it all the time. The Prime Minister's had it all the time.''
