Point & Figure Charting - secret weapon?

This is good stuff Country thanks for sharing.

Met quite a few of the old Stock Central when in Sydney once. I'm sure a few like Amory Hill who was one really strange dude. Aren't with us. Don't remember PiggyBank.

I'm not surprised as I was under a different name. Do you still have that funny chart Tech of a stock (unbeknown) with various commentaries added at certain parts of the price movement - e.g. This is a good time to purchase extra stock, only to see the price fall!!

Yes AH may have been strange but as the saying goes "it's takes all sorts to make the world go round".

Cheers

Thanks for the interesting read. With respect, have you considered using the above image as your avatar, kind of appropriate?

Thanks for the idea Nulla Nulla but how do I do it?

Cheers
PB

1. At the top of the site screen where it says "welcome piggybank" select "settings";
2. In the boxes on the left side of the screen that opens "my settings", choose "Edit Avatar"; and
3. Assuming that you store the "image" on your computer, select "upload image from your computer". Browse to the file and select it etc.

Fairly straight forward. I think you may have to save the change before you return to the threads. Good luck.

PB, click "Settings" on the right in the menu bar right at the top of the page.

On the left under "My Settings" click on "Edit Avatar". In "Custom Avatar" upload the avatar from your computer. You will need to reduce the size as the size can be no bigger than 80 by 80 pixels or 34.2 KB.

Cheers

PnF looks like one of those topics where people delight in deliberately complicating it so that they sound smart, and so that others keep coming back. Notice the lack of questions to motorway? That's because no one has the faintest idea what he's talking about. So does anyone have a simple explanation of the benefits of PnF? Most things can be made simple.

I don't use a pure PnF chart as such. However I do use a PnF Footprint chart for trading Futures as I find it shows rotations a lot clearer and the auctioning going on within those rotations compared to a timed based Footprint charts......

Thanks Bear. Can I see an example of that?

It is also dependent on your timeframe and trading setup depending if you want to use a PnF Footprint or Timebased Footprint and also what setting for the reversal for the PnF depending on the market.

I find CL is good for a 10 tick reversal PnF compared to something like the ZB where you would only have around a 4 tick reversal PnF.

Since the PnF is rotational it shows initiative auctioning alot better so it is good to use on breakouts, opening drives & swing trading as it doesn't show every little pull back that might happen in that time....So also good for one time framing etc.

The Market Delta YouTube channel has some videos on this and can probably explain it better than me.
