Our society is toast

I went to the movies tonight, and we couldn't buy Jaffas. No JAFFAS AT THE MOVIES!

I mean, now we know our society really is toast.

Everyone on this thread really needs to watch Idiocracy. It really is the synergy of all this hatred of anti-intellectualism.

I've got myself in trouble with friends recently for espousing such theories over human beings, and the 'dumbing down' of society that is occuring.

One of the major problems I see is actually modern medicine, humanitarian causes, and 'right to life' which is now increasing the worlds population exponentially, and saving people who perhaps should not be saved. It's resulting in significant overpopulation in developing countries, and in developed countries it seems the rich are having fewer children, while the poor are having more, and thus reducing the gene pool. Humans with genetic defects are being kept alive longer and have been allowed to breed. Perhaps many are assuming medicine and gene therapy will solve defects, but it's not advancing us, just preventing natural progression (whatever that is).

The result will be human being natural selection stopping in its tracks. This is the peak of our development, and we are going to all end up Homer Simpsons into the future....Or that dude in Futurama.

'Christians' may now shoot....:couch:

(The scientists may mave some theories that modern medicine will smarten us up too perhaps)

This is true. But it is moreso the wrong types of people having children, not so much the rich and poor. Australia has what is known as an "educated poor", who generally don't have children, but really should. The children of the "cashed up bogan" (and not so cashed up bogan) crew are really the future problem that we are seeing the commencement of at the moment...

How much has the government's 'baby bonus' contributed to the theory! Aaaaghhhh! 18 year olds having babies so they can buy a plasma!!! They are not the people to be encouraged to have children. And the cycle will continue for that family....

So you've obviously been to Geraldton then Chops?

As well as the type of people that make life decisions based on sound bites...

Been a couple of years. Wouldn't mind going up to Mullewa again this year.

I know a not so dumb, not so boganish group of people that own the 20km's of beach south of Geraldton though...

Kennas, to the contrary, Christians actually fully support natural selection... Its you bloody atheists who have nothing to live for after death who are all trying to prolong life, and muck around with natural selection, etc, etc....

oh well, as you have rightly said, its all going to backfire rather soon...

Christian teaching on euthanasia is very simple, you cannot deliberately kill someone with poison, however, there is no pressure to use artificial means to prolong life at any cost.

Nature is a remarkable leveller...

Cough, splutter, spit.....aaaghhhh, WHAT THE ???????????

Only twice in the last 8 years. The trips taught me this: I know why you guys want to escape!
