OMH re ASF 2021-01-08.png

Hey @Trav. don't lose too much sleep over it as there would seem to be some resistance building up over the next few bars.
Cheers Rob

As @peter2 often reminds us, Dick for a tick (maybe 2).

We all know better but we still do it.

Thinking about that.

@Trav. Does your trading plan cover purchase price?

Mine gives me an OK to enter at a certain price and even a maximum permitted purchase price but doesn't include how I bid.
If I have the time I may watch the bids to try to get the best price but not really a plan.

Years ago it was over the phone and basically buy at market but online we have better info.

Thanks peter and trav for your posts, they have made me question what I do and I now need to review that.

@rnr there are plenty of opportunities out there at the moment but I have mixed feelings. Good that I didn't chase and Bad that I missed the run. On to the next trade....and there are a few lined up for Monday

@Trav. Does your trading plan cover purchase price?

@Austwide this trade was found using DT as per post #39 and still learning the pros / cons with it, so to answer your question no I do not have a specific plan for purchase price in this case. I looked at the BO level $0.60 and previous day high $0.61 and set entry price here. I have generally been trading stocks > $1 with a lot less volatility so I was a bit hesitant on this trade and didn't won't to get caught up in the euphoria.

I was also watching the market depth on commsec and noted that the buy side was stacking up and that should have been the trigger to move the buy price up but I didn't want to play the intra day trader so I sat back and watched it play out.

I am still trialing things to see what works for and this is taking longer than it probably should but I am enjoying the process and I can see the improvement in the way I manage my weaknesses.

ASF has been a big part of this development and I am always conscious to try and give back a little to the forum and it's members, so I am glad that you find something useful mate.

And some EoY commentary:

Market Cap: $616.8 million
2031 % Change: 51.82%

ASX listed but Malaysian OM Holdings has benefitted from the supply crunch in a couple of key but relatively obscure commodities, ferrosilicon and silicomanganese, two alloys used in steelmaking.

Ferrosilicon in particular has been hard to come by, with prices soaring 116.2% to US$4,150 per tonne CIF Japan at the end of September 2021 compared with US$1,920 in the June quarter.

OM owns the Bootu Creek manganese mine in Australia, which is wrapping up at the end of 2021, an indirect 13% interest in the Tshipi manganese mine in South Africa and processing operations in Sarawak, as well as an exploration JV with WA explorer Bryah Resources (BYH) .

The company banked a $23.5 million net profit after tax in the first half of 2021, and its second half results could be an interesting read with both prices and production of ferrosilicon on the up subsequently.
