Good morning everyone and welcome to the October 2022 stock tipping competition! :)

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by OpenTrader, Australia's newest and most advanced retail broker. Trade with the technology that the professionals use!

For those who only trade occasionally, OpenTrader's Investor Wealth platform has no monthly fees, charting, price alerts, conditional orders, unlimited watchlists, live portfolio valuation and access to their proprietary Asset Greed/Fear Index. Brokerage starts from just $5 a trade.

For active traders, OpenTrader's Active Share Trader PRO platform offers unlimited custom dashboards, and award-winning charting technology with 90+ Technical Indicators, heaps of drawing tools and immersive live data. Create custom layouts as you see fit with charting choices driven by OpenTrader's low-latency technology ranging from tick-by-tick data to monthly time horizons. On top of their own proprietary analytics such as the Greed/Fear Index, you get access to market maps, market depth, course of sales and leading market news sources. OpenTrader's Active Share Trader PRO platform is low on clutter and high on value.

All ASF members and visitors who signup with OpenTrader through a link at ASF will get three months free access to their Active Share Trader PRO platform, valued at $297. So please be sure to check them out. Whether you're an active or occasional trader, you'll find them very hard to beat. Also, becoming a client of OpenTrader helps support ASF, so not only do you get the best broker in the Australian market but you also help to keep ASF alive!

This month there were three entrants who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @Telamelo and @Go Figure. If those entrants post in the thread of their competition entry within the next 48 hours they will be added to the October competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

two days in, and I notice my entry has not changed all through the day, though it has been fluctuating when I've glanced .... and should be 5.79 at today's close (and a vast lift from the starting price/ Correct Weight of 5.78)

The leaderboard updates each hour on the hour, although data is 20 minutes delayed so the price displaying after each update will be the price at 20 minutes to the hour.

Not sure why there is a one cent discrepancy with CXL. I can only assume it is some kind of anomaly and will correct tomorrow.

Just ran the update script and got this error, "Ticker CXL is not present in the Norgate Data - perhaps there has been a symbol change or delisting?" Must be a temporary glitch.

Oh, look who's riding every tick up and down throughout the day on CXL. Classic day trader behaviour.

Delisting. LOL that should get a response. I was in the CXL closing auction and very late bids took the price from 5.70 to 5.79 just before the random closing price.

It had better be a glitch. Hold 20K of them

more likely behaviour of a longtime Ennui-sur-Blasé resident

Nice volume at close. Repeat for the next few weeks and ... well, modesty forbids.

The wait to be back where we were was not a long one...

*blankly staring without breaking eye contact with Mr. Frog, I insert the needle into my carefully-crafted froggy voodoo doll, after which an almost perceptible expression of nefarious satisfaction manifests momentarily across my face, disappearing before any observers are sure they saw it*

maybe you have the wrong voodoo doll ( conspiracy predictor ) ( wink )

will depend of how much help the Fed gives to a certain party before the mid-terms , there is what i hope to happen ( and i lose the comp. big time ) and what i expect to happen ( and i keep the leaders honest )

My friend... yesterday I used my voodoo doll, please check the board at that time and compare it to the board now. Please don't encourage me to make a divs4ever voodoo doll...

*Sdaji gets back to giving his Sdaji doll a money bath at the top of a symbolic ladder*

given all the blood tests and radio-active dye injections i have have in the last five years my doll might just shrug , how about dipping a leg in cold water , or cut some onions near the face

cheers

so far it looks like the recent rally has run out of puff , but time will tell

Haha!

It was funny that the ironic ESG brothers, Mr. Frog and myself, went straight back to #1 and #2 on the rank, and funny that I then hit #1 after joking about things, but jokes aside I don't think QPM's early movement will have any relevance by the end of the month. Quite likely we can joke about my doll falling off the ladder and into the dirt/kettle.
