memo to self ... break out the clothes pegs ( to block the nose )

Greg Canavan said today that Nufarm's 'seeds technology' business arm alone is on the books at $730m.
So let me get this straight divs, if I buy this tomorrow I'm getting in cheaper than you, right? This by itself makes it attractive.

on the share price average .. YES

but i have a buy order in the market , and you just never know , i might pick another market low ( which this stock has an imposing record on )

now the seed technology arm might sound attractive , but does it make money , or is it a R&D abyss ( tax write-down factory )

so does it get floated ( and probably taken over later ) or does it just get sold

if sold outright , to whom ? ( WES , GNC , SGL , over somebody else like an outlier like TWE )

OR does NUF get taken-over after the seed tech divestment ( not impossible , either )

currently the poison pill here is the corporate debt ( notes ) on NUF ( NFNG )

good luck if you buy in , this feels like a patience -tester to me ( or an outright disaster )

by the way i hold WES , SGLLV and GNC , so am hoping to get two bites at the seed tech. ( or maybe NUF )

Yes, I've looked at the CommSec multi-year summary of earnings and other metrics and it's not attractive even when on sale. Mind you, G Canavan isn't claiming it's a high return stock, just that even poor businesses have a price. Also there's the seed technology arm which he suggests might be sold af a premium to its book value.

Regards to the above, I make the caveat that G Canavan has not recommended a buy. It's not quality. Nufarm is just one of the bombed out stocks he's looking at for possibly unrecognised residual value.
